  • Useful Post-op Shirt!
Color: Blue Size: Medium
I ordered this shirt to wear after surgery. I am 5'5, 135 lbs, and a 36D, and I ordered the medium. It is quite oversized for me, but that's how I wanted it to fit, loose and comfortable. The shirt itself is made of a comfortable slightly stretchy material and has a cute pocket on the front. Both sides of this shirt from hem to neckline are connected via snaps which is convenient, it is also lined for reinforcement so you don't have to worry about ripping the shirt's material. However, I did not find this shirt to be as comfortable as some other post surgery shirts I own, mainly because the lining on the edges doesn't lay as flat as I'd like, and the snaps at the neckline start an inch or two in from the end of the material, which makes it not closed at the point where it meets my neck and I find the material of the lining to be scratchy against my neck. If you are less sensitive to textures of clothing then you may be fine with how the lined edges of this garment feel and lay against your skin. Overall, it's a useful shirt for navigating getting dressed post op, but I wish it was less scratchy on the edges! ... show more

  • The first time I undid the buttons I had a little trouble re-attaching one
Color: Navy Blue Stripe Size: X-Large
There are a lot of buttons on this shirt- of course, because the whole thing detaches- and that is the entire purpose. But, as I was examining it for the first time- I wanted to take photos- especially before it was worn- for the review I would do in the future. I had no problem undoing and snapping the buttons on the arms for the first time, I thought they were nice quality. They even seem to have this magnetic pull, along with the snap quality of them- that holds the shirt together. I didn't unsnap every button on the shirt (I wasn't that curious)- plus it takes a small amount of time over and above what I wanted to spend unsnapping and resnapping buttons (and I was unsnapping almost half of the shirt to check it out). However, I did unsnap the shoulder and when I got to the left side of the shirt (when looking at it from the front)- I had a small amount of trouble re-snapping one of the buttons- it didn't want to snap together as tight as the others. What was nice is this magnetic pull also holds the buttons- even if the snap isn't perfect. I just wish they would have used a metal snap button (which holds up better, IMO), rather than plastic snap buttons- on the shirt (and is the reason I took off a star). IDK if you have ever used metal or plastic snap buttons- but, for me, I have always been able to feel- in my fingertip- when the buttons snap tight- and when they don't. In the past- I have never felt a metal snap button falter in adherence- the way in which I think the plastic snap buttons can. And I felt that this one plastic button, when I snapped it back- did not adhere to the other side of this button- as good as all the other ones had (when I snapped them together on the rest of the shirt, the ones I unbuttoned). It made me wonder- if this snap button feels like it's not as together as all the rest I have snapped (and this is the first time I unsnapped it and put it back together) how will it hold up over time? Of course, when time passes- I will find out. But I know that gowns and other things I have used with buttons like this have lasted for a good period- but then most people shouldn't need to wear a shirt like this for years and years constantly- it will probably be an item for most people that they use for surgery and during the recovery period- and then it gets put away. My husband had to go to the hospital later in the day- so he had to wear this shirt for most of the day- before he went. He actually went to work- with his on- and had to move around all day with it on. He did not wear it as his only clothing though (on the top part of his body)- he wore it underneath the sweatshirt he had on. When we got home that night I was curious- how was it to wear this shirt for almost an entire day? Because there are buttons around the entire seam of the shirt- the snap kind- and I wondered, did he feel them? Were they annoying? What was it like to even perform labor with a shirt like this? And how did it work out when he went to the hospital? At first, he told me that the shirt took a little getting used to. Of course, it was more apparent (the feel of the buttons on the shirt) because he had a sweatshirt over it. But after ten minutes with it on- he didn't notice that the buttons were there and he was able to feel comfortable. He said that the shirt was very breathable- the one thing he kept repeating about it and what he liked best about the shirt. But, with no seams and buttons holding the shirt together- I am sure it is. Not that there are any gaps because of the buttons on this shirt. They did a good job manufacturing it- that, for the most part- you wouldn't notice the shirt was different from any other. However, I felt that the color of the stripes on the shirt reminded me a little bit of hospital colors- I wish they would have been a little more vibrant- or chosen a color other than light blue- the general color of scrubs (although it is not the exact same color of scrubs- it is very close). Overall, I think this shirt works out well for use when needed. I don't think it is going to be the best shirt to hold up if you wear it every week and constantly wash it after you wear it for years and years- but if you have surgery coming up and need a shirt like this to get through the hospital and recovery time- it's a great item to have (and also a great item to give a person who needs a shirt like this as a gift). Please see the photos that I took of the shirt- I included one of the buttons, up close, in case anyone is interested in what they look like. And if anyone has any questions about this shirt, please feel free to reach out and ask. Thank you ... show more
