I ordered a set of these mugs a few months ago when my 95 year old Mom moved into her independent living apartment. The flat, wide base makes them very stable, and they are easy for her to hold and are not too heavy for her. She loves them, as do I. In fact, I recently ordered a set for myself. They are a pretty, creamy, slightly off-white, not a bright white. They match my Villeroy and Boch Artesano dishes perfectly, and I like these every bit as much as the Artesano mugs. I love these mugs! I bought the version with the speckles and brown bottom - great if you love boho or retro styles. The lip of the mugs is thin and comfortable to drink from. The handles are also comfortable but might not be if you have large hands. My mugs came well packed, in tact, and state that they are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. Like others have said, the shape and heaviness of the bottom makes them feel study and will not easy to tip over. I use these with a Nespresso Vertuo machine which brews about an 8oz cup of coffee.
