I usually don’t review products but this is such a terrific product that I felt everyone with a pool needs to look at this product. I have consistently had varying problems with my pool until I bought this. I am amazed at what this did in just two days. Even my pool man is so convinced in its effectiveness that he’s trying to get his other clients to buy one of these. My pool has zero problems. I mean none whatsoever. I’ve had it for about three months. The water looks so clean and clear that it resembles water in the Virgin Islands. You could drop a dime in the eight foot end and tell if it’s heads or tails. This insert in pool floater deletes dosing of weekly algae killing chemicals, shocks, clarifiers, etc. Much cheaper method. It works well on 30k gallon pool that is so old the rough cement walls grow algae quickly. As a result the insert doesn't last the advertised 6 months but it works well for 3 months. ... show more

Right after adding this guy, the algae blooming disappeared and the chlorine levels stablized. The water is crystal clear too! Heads up for those with cartridge filters! Do NOT use the filter for at least a day when you add this. If you have the filter in when you initially deploy this, the filter will suck it all up and get saturated to the point of replacement. Remove the filter entirely and run the pump without it until the PoolRX is completely dissolved into the water. For me this took a day and a half of no filter (14hrs w/variable speed pump) at all and a couple of daily filter cleans after that to get back to a normal flow rate. After that this thing has been lights out! It's rainy season here in FL and I am watching to see how it handles that as well. So far so good! ... show more

I have purchased this product several times. It always worked amazingly for me. But this summer, I have had nothing but algae issues with my pool. Thinking maybe my pool RX needed to be replaced sooner than usual, I purchased a replacement, and as you can see from the photos, something is all gunked up. I am crossing my fingers that it doesn't affect functionality, but given that the last one didn't work, I don't know whether to give up on this product or not. ... show more

A well kept secret for keeping pool algae free with less chlorine. Place into pump basket. Lasts about 6 months depending on biological load. Easy to add recharge also placed in pump basket. I use one regular and one recharge during pool season. Makes pool maintenance much easier!!!
