These curtains arrived quickly, in with the rest of my order. They were packaged in a heavy plastic bag to protect them from shipping damage. I was looking for quality velvet blackout curtains that would be pet tolerant. I have two cats, two dogs, and two rabbits and the style I’m going for is “elevated goth cottagecore”. The fabric on these curtains is a synthetic satin-ish. They are not blackout, but they do block some light. If you hold the fabric up to a light source either the sunshine or a light bulb, you are able to see the light. I’m a nurse, a gamer, and a student. When I need to block the light I *really* need to block the light. If I had to put a number on it, I would say 60% light blocking, they definitely are room darkening. They would easily be destroyed by pets or kids, the fabric screams delicate. I pulled an edge out of the package, held it to the light and knew instantly they would need to be returned. This fabric is the type of fabric that gives my skin the heebie-jeebies too, for some reason. Some synthetic satin-esque fabric catches on the microscopic dry cells of my fingertips and makes me shudder. I know, I’m a sensitive baby. If you want an idea of how these look, and feel to touch, try out the Walmart brand Mainstays. They are almost identical, but they are heavier fabric and a higher quality. They are a good weight, the fabric probably looks expensive hanging up, and they are sewn neatly, carefully and professionally. If you are looking for a satin type darkening curtain that is twice as expensive as the nicetown variety, these are the ones you want. I purchased one set (they come as a set) of the 84 inch grommet style black (velvet) for about 70 dollars. They are definitely not velvet texture, and definitely NOT blackout, but they are good quality curtains. I did return these curtains (I have prime) and received a full, prompt refund with no issues. ... show more

I did not purchase these curtains for their room darkening property but rather for privacy. We have nine-light outside doors in a storage room that provides a full view if the lights are on. The curtains do block the light very well. I chose to shorten them and discovered they are difficult to sew with a home sewing machine. It can be done with the proper weight thread. The color is described as red, but they are more like cranberry colored. I like the weight and the color, and they were priced right for me. ... show more

Finally found what I was looking for -- smaller curtains in a darker color with a back loop feature to fit my already-installed 3" flat rod. Nice quality for the price and appreciate the ease of hanging. I ironed first and will be getting some tie backs. These darken the bedroom enough when I pull them shut. These are very nice curtains. They are thicker than I had expected. Soft material that hangs very nicely. They allow a small amount of light in so they are not completely black out curtains. I highly recommend if you are looking for a colder weather type of curtain.

I purchased these curtains to block out artificial light from the neighbors coming through my window at night time. They work perfectly to do this and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. However I noticed that the color I bought (light gray) does let in quite a bit of sunlight during the day. I came back to the product page to double check that I did buy blackout curtains and now I see that there are three different ratings for the percentage of light filtered by these curtains on the product page, though it is noted that lighter colors will block less light. Not an issue for me but just something that others may want to note. As far as wrinkle free, they came out of the package with pretty deep set wrinkles. I was too lazy to wash and dry them when I received them yesterday so this can be seen in my picture. ... show more

These arrrived on time and in good shape. I did Iron them before I put them up. They have good weight to them and are super soft. As far as blocking out all the light, they are very close, leaving just a little coming througth. Overall, I think these are great value for the price.
