In an effort to do mini-makeovers on our bathrooms, I “redecorated” with new waffle weave towels. Ended up with cotton in the primary bath and these microfiber towels in the guest baths— I love both fabrics—the “pros” are basically the same; the differences could be consequential, depending on what you’re looking for. • All are huge—the bath towels are nearly the size of bath sheets or beach towels, and the “hand” towels are much bigger than most terry hand towels—perfect size for a head towel after shampoo. • Way more absorbent than terry! Waffle weave is definitely different from terry cloth, and some people may need a while to get used to them. I’m always up for anything new, but even my husband, who totally resists change, has adapted nicely. • Both fabrics dry, store, and launder much more efficiently than terry cloth. • They have an elegant, sophisticated look. • Differences—the cotton towels are slightly more supple and the microfiber are less expensive. So—these towels are definitely winners. What I didn’t expect out of them and absolutely love is how absorbent they are. My skin is totally dry after one swipe. They also soaked up the dripping water off my hair amazingly.
