Put these in my hard leather saddle bags. Equalizer brings out decent bass and the sound is clear. You can’t get great out of saddle bags, but it’s pretty good. I covered with stainless steel plates that I got from Amazon, wrapped the edge with door edge guard. Very pleased.

Doing research I found that my truck required 6x8 speakers, but found out that the 5x7 speakers should also be able to accommodate the same mounting holes. There isn't a ton of boom to the bass, but it's way better than the blown speakers that I had before :D I would highly suggest getting a wiring harness for the Ford F-150 trucks as it made installation a breeze. They don’t have much bass but I have a crossover at 300 so wouldn’t know. The highs are good. Time will tell if they hold up. UPDATE well less than 3 months one snap crackled and popped dead so for the price you get 1 speaker

I blew an older model Polk speaker. I bought this pair and they are working great. Sound awesome. They bolted right up as a direct replacement. I recommend buying the pigtails to not cut your factory harness.
