There is absolutely nothing I don’t like about this dish. The classic square design is beautiful and the structure and finish are so simple that it can be used in a great variety of ways. One of its best features is that it is oven and microwave safe, making it a great little casserole dish when cooking for a smaller group of maybe two or three. In addition, it is great for serving vegetables, chips, or a salad. It’s also pretty enough to just sit on a table or countertop to hold fruit or candy. The wooden trivet that comes with it is pretty and makes a great hotplate for the dish, and the addition of the wooden serving utensils makes a nice matching set. I originally thought the trivet worked as a lid which it doesn’t, but that didn’t lessen my satisfaction with this little dish. It comes with a wooden tray that is the perfect fit to set the dish on for storage. The tray can be used to serve sliced cheese and crackers or can be used as a small cutting board. I live in a tiny house. It frustrates me a bit that a lot of space can be wasted by having round containers in square cabinets. This salad bowl suits my situation perfectly! It utilizes space just perfectly! It is easy to clean. The corners of the inside of the dish are curved a bit so as not to trap food in them. It does not require excessive scrubbing. The serving utensils are comfortable to hold and lightweight. They are sturdy. The finish is smooth and safe from fear of splinters. They do not arrive with any odd smells. True confession: I saw this and loved the bowl on sight but I was not going to get it for a Vine product review because, while I literally eat salad every day, I just make it in the bowl from which I'll be eating. But then I read the product description and I was hooked!! PROS * oven safe! It's not often coming across square dishes (8-5/8" x 8-1/2"), which attracted me to this serving bowl. I like its shape (although harder to completely toss a salad or -- depending on food -- spoon food from the bottom crevices, its matte finish, that it's microwavable, and its grooved trivet (which doesn't serve as a lid; in addition, I wouldn't want to use it as a cutting board, as advertised). The fork & spoon serving utensils are very lightweight, smooth on the main surfaces but rough on the utensils' edges. Overall, unique and attractive. ... show more

I don't know if anyone would use it as a party salad bowl, but it's a meal-sized salad bowl for me (it's a size for 3 or 4 people) and I really like the design, too. It can be used in a microwave, and it was nice that the Bamboos Wood Serving Utensils looked luxurious.

I really like this set, the porcelain dish is nice quality and looks just like the picture. It seems thick and durance, good quality. I haven't used it yet but will probably be making casseroles in it, therefore will be putting it in the oven. It says in description that it can go in the oven, dishwasher and microwave. I needed casserole dishes and this was perfect. I got it mostly for the reason of being oven safe. The bamboo lid/bottom can't go in the oven (obviously) and neither can the utensils. The utensils are also described to be bamboo. Although the bamboo parts can't go in the oven, they can go in the dishwasher which is super useful. I will be using this porcelain dish a lot and im happy to have a nice, new casserole dish. For $30, that's pretty affordable. ... show more
