I was pleasantly surprised how well this Car Play (also Android) worked, and how easy it was to set up. The only thing that is somewhat iffy, is the playback through FM transmitting. It's not that big of a deal for me, since I don't use that feature, but I did try it out, and the sound was not that great. In all fairness, it was hard to find a clear frequency in my area to use with the unit. But if you are traveling and using the FM transmitter, this would be an issue as soon as you came into range of a broadcast using the same frequency. Still, I'm giving this 5 stars because the price is way below comparable units, and it seems to be pretty solidly made. Also, the 7 inch screen size is perfect for viewing, without blocking vision in your windshield when dash mounted. ... show more

The 7 inch display with dashcam and wireless cellphone connection, came with a power cord for cigarette lighter socket, an audio cord, dash mount, windshield mount and a manual. The power input is a USB-C connector so you can use an USB cable instead of the supplied cable. That way you can get a cigarette lighter plug with two USB ports on it and also connect your cell phone at the same time. In addition to the USB-C power input there was a 3.5mm audio output jack and a 2.5mm video input jack. There was no micro SD memory card included so I installed one that I had. Without it the dashcam will not work. The setup was easy for the dashcam. You just need to set date and time, format the memory card and select recording resolution. The time is kept even when power is off for a day, so there must be some internal battery. It is not mentioned in the manual. The dashcam appears to come on all the time. When turned off to review the recorded files, it comes on again soon thereafter. The camera can be adjusted vertically and horizontally for best recording view. This is not mentioned in the manual. I don't know what will happen when the memory card is filled up, if it starts overwriting the old data or just stops recording. The manual suggests to format the memory card regularly. The image from the dashcam is good, even at low light levels. The display is very good and can be set to very bright or dim. At night you will need to dim the display manually, there is no light sensor to make it dim by itself. I tried connecting a camera to the rear camera 2.5mm input connector, but could not make it work. I don't know if Podofo has a compatible camera available. I next connected a Samsung Android phone using the Andoid Auto function. It was easy to set up and worked very well. It indicated Android 11 or higher was needed but Android 10 on my phone worked fine. The sound quality with the internal speaker is OK for phone calls or driving instructions but not so good for music. I connected an audio cable to the car radio instead which silenced the internal speaker. The sound quality was then very good. There is also an internal FM transmitter to transmit the sound to the car radio that way, but I did not try it. The unit did not get warm at all while using it. The biggest problems are with the dash mount and windshield mount. They don't hold the display firmly in place which makes it hard to use the touch screen. Even when tightened firmly, the dash mount is wobbly and the windshield mount is loose. I don't really trust the suction cup either. I have had dashcams fall down after the car has been sitting in the sun for a while. This display might get damaged if it falls down. If the mounts could be improved this would be a very good unit, especially for the cost. UPDATE: I added a fiber washer to the dash mount. See picture. This allows the mount to be tightened and it is a lot more secure. You can also tighten the screw at the bottom of the mount, but then you won't be able to turn it anymore.     • So many features in a nice package
It wasn't until I bought a new car with Apple CarPlay that I realized I was missing out. My older truck has only a basic stereo system so I ordered this figuring it would give me some of the same features as my new car. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that it did that and more. My new car still requires me to plug in my iPhone to get Apple CarPlay to work, but this unit connects wirelessly making it much more convenient. The display is very crisp and bright. All the menu functions are easy to navigate through. Oh and surprise, it also has a built in dash cam. It requires an SD card, but you can pick those up just about anywhere for little cost. The dashcam just starts automatically recording when the unit turns on so you don't have to worry about forgetting to set it. The camera image is clear during the day and decent at night. It's a bit confusing to be able to playback the video, but once you get used to the controls it's not bad. Instead of using Bluetooth I used the audio jack from this unit to the aux input on my truck radio. The sound quality is excellent and I get to control my music and podcasts right from the touch screen. You can even use Apple AirPlay to cast video from your phone to this display. The unit seems to be made of quality materials and is very sturdy. Given the ease of connection, you could easily share this from one vehicle to another without much effort.
