The product reviewed is a complete set up of everything you need to start Pod Casts / Streaming / Recording. Although everything seems well constructed, the majority is still plastic. There is a surprising amount of built in features which are fun for experimenting and customizing. The microphones are described as "Condenser" but are actually "condenser-like". They resemble condenser style mics, but they have a "dynamic chip-set?" inside, which eliminates the need for phantom power, making them more like Dynamic mics. Even still, for being entry level, this system does provide surprisingly good sound quality with minimal crackles or delays. I can recommend this kit as an economical starting point to hit the ground running with your projects because it gets you started. With experience and developing your discerning taste you can realize what and where to upgrade your rig to professional quality items later.

The overall feel of these components in this product set are seemingly cheap feeling all around. The bright side of it, is for the money, you get a set of 2 mics, cables, foam pop filters and pop shields, earbuds, and the mixer unit. The product boasts the mics are "condencer" XLR mics. They work just fine plugged into the mixer. The XLR converts down to a 1/8" TRS (like a small headphone male plug). The sound quality of the mixer and the mics are decent, and the effects applied are decent as well. The effects range from what sound like different EQ settings for the presets, and a "Echo" (Reverb) knob that adjusts the Mics reverberation. There is a voice changer mode which is the best part about this thing... Boy, Girl, Male, Monster, and an Autotune effect as well that has a key changer function button. The voice command feedback is clearly Chinese accent speaking English, but it's rather hard to understand due to the dialect and poor English pronounciation. I do like the fact that the mixer has internal battery, charges via USB. The mic XLR didn't seem to work with any other XLR cables besides the one that came with it (that converts to the TRS), and it certainly did not work with a mic booster attached inline. Not sure if I'm missing something about these? I just don't recall getting any good signal quality when not using the original cables going into the mixer. I will need to double check this. The mixer comes with a bunch of corny sounding "One Shots" sound bytes... There are a few staple ones, like the "Boooo", Clapping, cheering, etc but most of all these are baked in with no clear way of customizing the sounds or changing them. The soundbyte quality is sorta low-fi sounding. Overall this would be good for a young child aspiring podcaster, absolutely. But it would be more of a toy that sets them in the right direction. It's got the boom arm mounts that are spring suspended, they are not the best, but they do work fine. The mixer voice changer is what really shines on this thing... Even the autotune function seems to work well. The earbuds aren't that great sounding, and the foam mic covers come smashed and deformed, but leave them out for a while and they should reshape OK. I opted to leave mine off.

This set is amazing!!! We initially set it up so my son could practice and play back his Trombone lessons. But it does SO MUCH MORE! The quality of the microphones seem pretty darn good. And yes, you get TWO complete sets of microphones and stands. The stand works very well and was able to clamp down well on the leg of our coffee table to hold the mic and positioned in front of his trombone. The mixer is really cool too. You can change your voice (we found only the male voice is usable though the others are funny sounding) Was able to lower the volume input so the trombone did not clip but picked it up well so all the nuances could be heard. You can connect your phone using bluetooth but only to play background tracks. You cannot connect it to record. You must use a computer/laptop to actually record. This is a bit of a downer as it would be SO MUCH NICER and easier to be able to record straight to your phone, especially if using this when your out and about as is intended since it does have a rechargeable batter. So one star deduction for that. All in all, this is a fantastic recording pack and in my mind a GREAT VALUE!
