To sidestep the risk of being stuck with cheap crap, I decided, as I normally do with most purchases, to go middle of the road price-wise with this system. I am pleased with the fit finish and quality of this trap and consider it a bargain at this price point. I must comment that I ordered this item in 1/2" IPS but the one I received is 3/4" so I was forced to buy bushings to step everything down. ... show more

got this to go with my new Quincy compressor. it's doing a great job, so far, of keeping moisture out of the air lines. I have primarily been media blasting since it was installed and have had no moisture come out the nozzle unlike before.

The media could not be loaded. Finished up my install today and so far the system I put together has kept every single drop of water out. Each vertical leg of the copper pipe is 5 ft tall so in total I have almost 30 ft of 1/2” copper pipe when you add in the short section leading up to the filter/reg and the lead in hose. This part of the system is critical because it allows the water vapor to condense back into liquid so it can be removed by this filter. The filter can’t remove vapor, only liquid so you need to have around 30 ft of pipe before this filter to get the best performance. I attached some photos and a short video, hopefully it helps other people who are serious about removing moisture. At the bottom of each main section I have a drain valve which is tied in to the main drain line so I don’t have to move my bucket around. I use this system to run my HAAS CNC mill which requires completely dry air. I contemplated running the drain through the wall but I’m actually excited to see how much the filter removes vs the condensing pipes. ... show more

I got this unit to prevent moisture from coming out of my compressed air hose. I needed dried air for work I was doing. May fine a better somewhere.
