Good if you're in a canoe or a kayak. But even then, the handle is a little short. You need the fish right up next to you to scoop it in. I did like that. It had a deeper pocket and that's why I bought it. And I had a piece of aluminum pipe that I added to it and made it a few feet longer. It is type of plastic around the net. But it seems sturdy enough. Where the handle snaps in: folding out the net needs a little push on the belt holder part that locks in the net to handle so that it gets a tight lock in place. It could have been a bit stronger for locking mechanism. But will get the job done in the meantime. ... show more

Actually got this for catching chickens, not fish. Every other one I could find had terrible reviews re: poles snapping, so I spent a bit more for this one that had good reviews re: stability. It has not disappointed. We're trying to re-train pullets from nesting in trees to nesting in their new shelter, so we have to go out and collect them at sun-down. This has been a game-changer. Very stable, catches and lifts chickens without breaking. None of them have been tangled in or injured by the net. I do wish I had purchased one with a longer pole (but that was going to be a longer delivery time and I needed it quickly). May purchase a second one with longer handle later so other family can help in the chicken rescues. Good purchase and great tool to add to the homestead. ... show more

It is a well-made and very functional product with the exception of the clasp that is supposed to attach to your belt. It kept popping off my belt when I walked through waist high brush on a path. On my last day Of fishing it popped off and I lost it permanently.
