Be forewarned that this SIM card will only work in an unlocked phone! My US Android phone was locked by my carrier because they sold it to me at a discount, so I can't fault them wanting to force me to use their service. That was years before I planned my European trip, so it wasn't a consideration at the time. No big deal. I was able to buy a nice Android phone (5G Motorola G24), brand new and unlocked in Europe for 120 euros -- and this SIM card worked right out of the box! I was in Europe for just under 20 days, so I never even reached my 10G data limit. My European contacts asked me to use email instead of SMS to send text, because their plans charged them for every SMS that they received. So I was unable to test the unlimited SMS aspect. Data and phone service were no problem, tho', regardless of country. Highly recommended! I heard from fellow US travelers who thought their US carriers were giving them a great deal by charging them $10/day for roaming in Europe... That's just dumb when you could get the same or better service using this card for less than $1/day! And now I've got a new unlocked phone that I can use with any SIM card of my choice, here or overseas. My original Android phone was getting long in the tooth, anyway. I love my new Moto G24!

The phone number has been used by many other people and you get many unsolicited texts and possibly calls. This is an issue with EVERY cheap prepaid SIM ==> DO NOT COMPLAIN. This SIM had a UK (+44) prefix and AFAIK, the regulations enable ROAMING within the EU, but there are some caveats. Post-Brexit the roaming rules may soon no longer apply !! The SIM is from UK and thus all voice calls are "international" and DENIED ==> cannot call a local taxi or hotel !! You might be able to use data & VOIP apps to place voice calls (but that didn't work for me) SUMMARY : It really worked GREAT and activation was SIMPLE (just plug in). I got satisfactory 4G & 5G coverage and datarates very satisfactory to stream a video (no benchmarks). 15GB is plenty of data unless you are constantly streaming.

I arrived in Europe (Spain) and inserted the SIM card. So far so good. I received some text communications instructing me to register, etc. The problem was a UK telephone number was required to proceed with registration. I attempted to work around this requirement to no avail. I live in the USA. I purchased the SIM card in the USA. How am I supposed to have a UK telephone number? I may as well have burned my $20 to send smoke signals for all the communication service the SIM card provided me. Maybe I was sent the wrong SIM card in error. Maybe I was confused by the registration process. The bottom line for me is use a different service if you want a European SIM card.

UPDATE: pretty impressed with the seller - they reached out and offered a refund b/c it didn’t work the way we expected. Can’t beat good customer service. Hence additional star… We just came back from our month long trip from Europe and although the chip served its purpose, we had some issues with connectivity as well as texts. So next time we’ll try a different one.
