  • Sturdy and easy to assemble
Although this item did not come with step by step assembly instructions, we figured it out. Thankfully we had some specific tools to reach in and tighten screws. It is beautiful and 3 dimentional.

  • Beautiful arbor!
The arbor is so beautiful. I put it together myself (33 yr old 5’0 female lol) in about 45 minutes. Instructions were easy to follow. The seller was also super accommodating.. I had purchased the arbor and then it went on sale and the seller price adjusted for me which was very kind. I can’t wait to use it as the entrance to my memorial garden! ... show more

  • Heavy, well constructed, and easy to assemble.
The large heavy package arrived today. It is heavy, the mail lady made a special trip to deliver this in the back of her truck and i walked it to the backyard. It was packed securely, with cardboard between the parts, and plastic ties to keep everything together. There are no written instructions, just a list of hardware, and three well done pictures to show the assembly. Assembly took about an hour and change. If you are not handy you will probably need help. I did it myself, but I have experience in assembling things like this. There are two things you need to pay attention to; make sure you position the outer panels so the scroll work is close to the visible side of the panel, and assemble the sections separately and then move it to the final location before doing the final assembly. It is heavy and cumbersome to move around once assembled. we did not have a level area, so it takes some jockeying around to get the gates to align properly when they are closed. I am also adding a magnet to secure the doors open when necessary. Its an attractive garden arbor, well made, at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • LOVELY!
This was easy to assemble, lay out, and install. We used a 3/8" wood spade drill to "pilot" the ground stake holes, and this is solid! For the price it is perfect.

  • VERY STURDY
I had a cheaper gate I had to replace. I already had bought Plow and Hearth large trellises and they have held up to the FLORIDA sun and rain and humidity very well (2 years now) and are very sturdy! So I bought this gate/arbor. It was pretty easy to put together. Only one problem with one piece that had a bit of slag in the screw hole which we were able to get out with some wire cutters. Don't loose any screws or nuts cause they don't give you extra! One other problem was the pieces were not labeled so we put the side pieces together wrong. Easily fixed. Of course NEVER tighten your screws till the end! I don't think the top piece should be held to the bottom piece by only 2 screws so I will probably put some zip ties on it for additional stability. I will also pound in some rebar and zip tie that to the legs for stability. After all this is Florida! I also agree with the review that complained about the mechanism that closes the gate. Make sure to put the gate on when you are deciding where to plant the legs otherwise it will never close. You only get like 1/4 inch so its not much! All that said and after having had 2 prior trellis/gates that pretty much disintegrated in the Florida weather, I don't think you could do better unless you hire a iron railing/welding company. ... show more

  • customer service not helpful
Ordered the Arbor with gate. It arrived in a very large, very heavy box. Had to tear the box to get all the pieces out. The pieces were well packaged but 2 pieces were missing: 1 D which is the bar that extends between the arches and B which is 1/2 of an arch. I contacted customer service Amazon and their response was to return the package. Do not have a box large enough or sturdy enough to return this very heavy product. Amazon is unable to issue just the missing pieces. I contacted Plow and Hearth and their response was to return the entire unit. Again not helpful. The other pieces are intact and look good. The arch would have been perfect for the yard. Only option is to package all the pieces up individually for a return. That should be interesting!! ... show more

  • really gorgeous for a wedding!
I'm a florist here in San Diego and I bought this arch for some weddings this year. I read every single question posted about this and posted my own. It took about an hour to assemble by myself, from complete start (from front door in box) to finish (including trash clean up). Some parts were a little tricky to fit together but a touch of WD40 and I was set. It wasn't designed to be taken apart and reassembled all the time, but for my purposes, I have it split into four easy to manage pieces, which all fit in the back of my Nissan Rogue with plenty of room to spare. It's a gorgeous piece and I have received many compliments on it. It takes me under five minutes to put the four pieces back together at any given wedding site. OH, and I set it up once on concrete, once on grass. For the purposes of a wedding ceremony, both were just fine! I purposely bought a heavier piece like this and when I used it on concrete, it was at a very windy venue. It never even rattled. It stayed perfectly upright the whole time even though the legs don't have straight/flat bottoms; they are more compacted like the end of a crunched paper towel tube. And on grass, same thing. No problem in either place! I just set it on top and that was that. Such a cool option to offer to clients who do not want some white lattice thing from 1986. Customer service was excellent too. One thing to watch is that the iron can scratch so just be mindful of that. But even if it does, it's really not any big deal. Thank you for such a quality piece! ... show more

  • assembly challenge and staying together
overall looks good. parts are almost identical but the parts/bags arent labeled A,B,C, etc.... so it takes too much time to figure out. Also the nuts in the cross tubes pop out easily so it has issues with staying together
