Features

  • ANTI-COLIC DESIGN - VentAire bottles are specially designed to prevent colic by reducing air ingestion. The patented anti-colic bottom vent keeps air at the back of the bottle as baby drinks so no air mixes with the milk.
  • ANGLED DESIGN - The bottle's ergonomic, angled design promotes semi-upright feeding which is recommended by pediatricians to help prevent ear infections.
  • DOCTOR RECOMMENDED FEATURES - The bottom vent for air-free feeding and the angled design for more upright feeding are doctor recommended to help reduce reflux, colic, gas, burping and spit up.
  • NIPPLE DESIGNED TO FEEL LIKE MOM - Designed to be most like mom, the wide shape Naturalatch silicone nipple encourages proper latching, promotes healthy feeding and allows you to easily switch between breast and bottle feeding.
  • EASY TO CLEAN & REASSEMBLE - Ventaire bottles are designed with fewer parts, making cleaning and reassembly quick and easy.

Description

Playtex Baby VentAire Bottles provide complete tummy comfort for easy switching between breast and bottle feeding. VentAire Bottles are designed with doctor-recommended features that help prevent colic and reflux. The patented bottom vent promotes an air-free feed, and the ergonomic, angled design promotes semi-upright feeding to help prevent ear infections. Unlike nipple vented bottles, VentAire's bottom vent keeps air at the back of the bottle and prevents it from mixing with milk as your baby drinks. Less air bubbles in your baby's milk means reduced colic, reflux, gas, burping and fussiness. Playtex Baby offers a variety of uniquely designed bottles that meet all of your baby’s changing feeding needs. All Playtex Baby products are BPA, PVC and Phthalate Free. Brand Story By Playtex P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); From the Manufacturer A clinical study confirms that babies using new Playtex VentAire Advanced bottles had less gas, spit-up, colic and other discomforts vs. Avent, Gerber and Evenflo reusable bottles. With the wider bottle, and a NaturalShape nipple shaped more like the breast, the VentAire Advanced wide bottle is designed for babies switching between breast and bottle OR transitioning from breast to bottle feeding. VentAire Advanced bottles are easy to clean and come with a leak-proof, breakproof guarantee. The bottles are compatible with our line of Nursing Necessities breast pumps. • Lactation consultant recommended, Mommy approved!
These are great. My son took to these very well. When traditional breastfeeding wasn't working out, I turned to my pump and needed a good bottle. My lactation consultant recommended these. The nipple is appropriate and the bottle is bent, easily allowing you to feed the baby in an upright position to help avoid ear infections. The vent portion does do something, because he does have less digestive stress using these than some others we tried (such as the Medela nipple that came with the pump set, Philips Avent, Chicco). The nipple that comes with the 6oz is slow flow and medium flow for the 9oz. I bought both sizes, but extra slow flow nipples for the 9oz. I don’t know if he'll ever need a faster flow while drinking breast milk. They have a lot of parts, but I only hand wash the nipples. I disassemble them, and place the top white piece, bottom white piece and blue vent into a dishwasher basket (I like the OXO version, its pretty spacious). The bottles themselves can go directly onto the spokes of your dishwasher. With the bottoms removed, I think the Playtex bottles get cleaner than the other brand once piece bottle designs, as those usually get tossed around and filled with dishwasher water and random food pieces. These are fully cleaned and rinsed every time. My dishwasher doesn't dry them well, or any other plastic part from the top rack. I take them out of the dishwasher and put them on a bottle rack to FULLY DRY BEFORE USING. I use the 2 tier Munchkin rack, it has room for all of the assorted parts. Assembling wet parts can cause leakage. If the parts are dry, the bottles will not leak! For warming, as it is expressed breast milk that I'm feeding, I take the bottle out of the fridge and place it in a warm bowl of water for about 10 minutes. My son's daycare uses a crockpot. Neither I nor his daycare have had a leaky bottle. Just assemble them dry and you will have no problems! They're great bottles. ... show more

  • Quality Name, Babys Favorite!
I'm a huge fan of Playtex anything. Tampons, Sippy Cups, Nursing Supplies, Bras...Playtex is a great brand that has been around since my mom fed me the original nursers with the flat cylindrical nipples that were latex. Anyways because they are such a known brand I wanted to try these bottles for the new baby on the way. I love how they also sell variety pack nipples to try with these bottles so if baby doesn't like one they don't have to change the whole bottle system and can try different shapes and flow rates. These ones are especially great because they are one of the only bottles I have seen that fit up to 6 ounces. I know you can just buy the 8 or 9 ounce bottles, but when your little one is only taking 2-6 ounces at a time why add more air into their little tummies than you already have. These bottles are very sturdy and seem to work great for venting the air bubble without leaking. Haven't tried them yet but my only negative is that they are kind of bulky and take up a little more space than I would have like. They are probably on the lower priced end for bottles but not too cheap I would be concerned they aren't quality. Excited to see how the little one likes these! Edit: Our little ones favorite bottles! Baby loves these and Dr Browns and they seem to be the only two brands she doesn't choke on. The slow flow is truly slow flow. The pieces, although more than a standard bottle, are super easy to clean. You can hear the venting system working. The price is right. Easy to find at the local Walmart or Target. These are our favorite! ... show more

  • No spit up
This bottle has been a game changer feeding our newborn!! He is both breast and bottle fed. There hasn’t been any confusion or bottle refusal. Every feed with this bottle he is not spitting up and has little to no gas! Every other bottle we’ve used he instantly will be spitting up/gassy. Cleaning this bottle is very easy as well! It holds up great in our baby breeza sterilize. ... show more

  • Out with the Old, In with the Leak
We used the earlier version of these in 2012 and 2013 for our first son and loved them-- they were easy to clean, for one, and our son, then a baby who was transitioning from breastfeeding to the bottle, drank from them like a pro from the start. (What a weird thing to brag about, no? "My son is a pro at drinking from bottles." "He'll probably be in the Bottle Olympics someday. After I invent the Bottle Olympics.") Anyway, I'd tested a number of bottles for him, before deciding on the earlier iteration of these. Man was I stressed. He was going to daycare and I was concerned he wouldn't take sustenance from anyone but me. It all turned out okay, and probably would have turned out okay even if I'd gone with another brand. My point is, I truly had no issues with the bottles. I did prefer the Slow flow nipple because the Fast flow was a little too intense for my professional bottle drinker, even as an older baby. By intense, I mean he just couldn't keep up with the flow. (Okay, so maybe he wouldn't cut it in the Bottle Olympics after all.) While drinking from the Fast nipples, formula and/or breast milk would end up flowing like lava from the corners of his little volcanic lips. After that I decreed that all Fast Flow Nipples be banished to the back of the cupboard-- you know, right next to the Ronco Food Dehydrator. Now I have another son, and needed some bottles to replace the ones that somehow got sucked into a vortex at some point over the past two years. I came to Amazon and read the reviews for these and scoffed at the ones that said that these bottles leak. "They just don't know how to properly put them together and by the way, these are SIMPLE to put together," I said in my head. So I ordered. Well, they leak. They don't leak every time, mind you, but often. Often enough to mar the veneer on my vintage (read: thrift store) nightstand. Often enough to force me to keep a big pile of baby washcloths nearby whenever it's time to feed. Often enough to really irritate me during those 3am feedings. Ok, ok, to really irritate my Husband during those 3am feedings. I'm not actually doing the feedings, just barking orders at him. I have no way of knowing when we assemble the bottle if they will leak or not-- we seem to be assembling them the same way, with the same torque each time. I press down hard on the little plastic circle in the bottom of the bottle, and I screw the bottle tightly, with the same effort I would use to open a pickle jar. And nonetheless, sometimes they leak, sometimes not. I also have no idea if I used torque correctly in the above sentence. Well, I'm keeping these bottles, even though they now seem to have infected my older versions and the older versions have started leaking too. You know what they say about one bad apple! I'm keeping them for now because, well, I have a 3 month old and a 2-year old and I am too exhausted to try something else right now. You know what they say about the devil you know vs. the devil you don't! Also, change is hard. Oh-- these bottle are easy to clean. Also easy to put together... I thought. The differences between the old and new models: *The new versions that I bought here have white top and bottom connectors (those parts that you screw in to the top and bottom of the bottle.) The top connector is larger (taller) than the old version. Thus: *The new batch has a different bottle cap. The bottle caps from the old and new version are not interchangeable-- in fact it can be very hard to get one off should a person force it to fit. (Yes, I am the person who forced it to fit.) *The new batch has blue "stopper" rings in the bottom, not clear, and the rings are a slightly different shape, more aerodynamic looking. *The new batch seems to leak more easily. Did I mention that? ... show more
