Fun musical toy for toddlers who can sit up and grasp objects firmly. This would be too advanced for infants who are unable to hold onto the wooden mallets as the xylophone does not work with hands alone. There are no loose, small parts that would become choking hazards. The wooden build is of good quality and each piece is securely held together. The sound quality is as expected. It's a toy, not an instrument. However, it's mostly in tune with itself as the 8 bars make up one full scale (though I don't know which), except for the second and third highest bars. I am able to play "Happy Birthday" on it, but the ending seems out of tune. Good toy, can't expect anything too musical.

picked this up for my nieces to play with when they’re over hanging out with their parents and it’s pretty nice overall... the build quality is solid with smooth wood and no rough edges and the mallets are the perfect size for little hands... the notes sound clear and distinct not overly loud or harsh so it’s not the kind of toy that will drive parents crazy which is always a plus... it’s a good beginner instrument to introduce kids to music and help with coordination but one small issue is that some people seem to have received duplicate keys meaning two notes sound the same which would be frustrating if you’re hoping for a perfectly tuned xylophone... mine was fine but it’s something to keep in mind... overall it’s a cute and well-made toy that makes a great gift for little ones just check the notes when you get it to make sure they’re all correct

We actually like this little xylophone and I love the look of it. It would make a cute gift.... however ours came with 2 of the same light blue pieces so they sound the same. My kiddo obviously doesn't notice, but it is annoying that it's not how it's supposed to be.

This xylophone is very well constructed. The body is smooth and mostly rounded meaning no snags, splinters, or sharp edges. The notes provde a clear and distinct tone. The mallets are perfect for smaller hands. It provides a nice introduction to music through play. It will also help in developing coordination and dexterity. We are very happy with this. It is a perfect gift for our grandson.
