Features

  • BALANCE MOOD AND TREAT YOUR SKIN: Patchouli grew to fame in the 1960s. It was popular in the "hippy culture" due to its soothing, meditative abilities. Add a few drops to create topicals such as: sensual massage oils, natural shampoo/body wash, deodorant and more.
  • 100% PURE POGOSTEMON CABLIN LEAF OIL: This essential oil is steam distilled from the green leaves of the Pogostemon cablin plant. It has a gorgeous dark amber color and a rich, earthy, woody, "wine-like" aroma. This oil actually improves with age, just like a fine wine.
  • BATCH SPECIFIC GC-MS REPORTS ON EVERY OIL: Every bottle of oil from Plant Therapy goes through multiple rounds of testing including organoleptic testing and multiple rounds of GC-MS testing by third-party laboratories.
  • PLANT-POWERED EXPERTS: Our customers are our #1 priority - Our Certified Aromatherapists are happy to help you with all of your Essential Oil and product questions.

  • Fantastic... Grounding and the Perfect Scent for Fall
Size: 0.34 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I originally chose this item because I wanted an essential oil to use for aromatherapy for grounding. I read that any earthy scent is good for grounding; I chose this product frankly because I am on a tight budget and this was the only "earthy" essential oil I could find on Amazon that was for under $10 and qualified for free shipping. So my Patchouli arrives and I open the bottle for a test smell. Yes, the very first thing you smell is the "earthy" scent. I put one drop on a cotton ball and inhaled. At first the scent was neither good nor bad, just interesting... yet leaving me wanting more. After the earthy scent came damp fall leaves (inhale deeply and you also smell bark), then something a bit like suede and something musky (in a good way) that I couldn't quite describe. It smelled similar to the Glade spray I recently bought called Cashmere Woods. HOWEVER, the Glade spray smells more like men's cologne; the Patchouli definitely smells more feminine - a soft, gentle, perfume-y, "magical" smell. I looked up cashmere and found a page for a perfume called Cashmere Mist. It is listed as smelling like musky, woody, powdery, amber, leather, vanilla. I would agree with the musky, woody, amber, and leather notes for this Patchouli. So I guess cashmere is the mystery scent I was smelling. This stuff is powerful; that one drop was all I needed. (Do not worry about the product pouring too fast out of the European-style dropper; when I turned over the open bottle, one drop came out only after I tapped the bottle a few times.) I eventually had to put the cotton ball away because the scent was so strong. This is where it gets good. The scent that lingered in the air afterward was just that "magical" part of the scent; not the earthy part. Honestly, if I had to name the lingering scent of Patchouli, I would call it Autumn Fairy. That is the image this scent gives me: feminine; a soft, warm glow; a wood of amber-colored fall foliage, and woodland creatures such as fawns, minks, and baby foxes. I was initially skeptical about how Patchouli would smell after reading reviews that said it reminded them of "hippies" and "the '60s". Well, I wasn't born in the '60s, so I wouldn't know what that smelled liked, but this doesn't make me think "hippies" at all. It's just fantastic. This will definitely help me with grounding, leaving behind a perfect fall fragrance. ... show more

  • Best stuff out there!
Size: 0.33 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This doesn't smell as strongly as a lot of other essential oils I've gotten in the past, which is a good and bad thing. It means you can't really put it in a machine and make the entire house smell like it *(to mask something bad) but it means it doesn't overwhelm you either. It is a pleasant level. The best part, however, is how good the stuff smells. It's amazing, a perfect blend of all of the individual smells so that none of them are overpowering. they blend phenomenally well together and smell excellent. It works kind of like an inhaler for vicks where the smell actually makes your nostrils open up, and I've noticed I can breathe easier when I use this. Highly recommended, the best smelling essential oil I've ever used. But, keep in mind it won't be overpowering like a lot of others, it's more of a pleasant scent you can run all day! ... show more

  • Strong Scent
Size: 0.34 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This is a high quality, concentrated grade. I base this on the strength of the scent compared to other vendors I have sampled. I am new to patchouli, so I will end the product content comparison there. However, there are other points in the overall purchase experience worth mention. As others reviewers have complained about non-full bottles from other vendors, I will say two things: (1) as someone who has worked in chem labs, a level above the shoulder is considered full volume for the size stamped on the glass bottle's bottom; (2) expect minor fill variation in production. I have ordered other Plant Essentials products and noticed normal fill variation, but always from full to over-full; never under-filled. Also, upon receipt of this particular bottle, the four little plastic connector strands between the lower rim of the screw cap and the black plastic collar were snapped. I noted that there was no oil showing on the tip or rebated rim of the internal dropper, so while it did not appear to be used, I assumed that the bottle had been opened. My assumption was incorrect. A most pleasant encounter with the manufacturer's Customer Service rep explained the how capping machine sometimes does this. They offered to replace the bottle, but I was satisfied with the explanation. I must say I was very impressed with my customer service interaction; that will certainly draw my repeat business with this merchant. ... show more

  • I love this brand PLANT THERAPY
Size: 0.34 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I love this brand PLANT THERAPY :-) ! It's a darker oil but it has 5 redeeming qualities: it's more fragrant (not over-powering), it blends well with my unscented lotions/oils to use as a body fragrance, worn as a scent it lasts longer than 2 others I'll mention below, and a little goes a long way in my diffuser, & I appreciate the price point. I will buy this again. It's still not the '1970s' Patchouli I so crave, but I haven't found any brand that smells like the good ole Patchoulis I remember. To compare, I have an organic, clear Patchouli from 'Healing Solutions' (purchased from Amazon). It is light scented oil (if you prefer that), doesn't last long on my body (as a fragrance), and I need a lot of drops for my diffuser before I smell it. I won't buy this brand again. Another comparison, is DoTerra (I don't think that brand is available on Amazon but Young Living is). For the same reasons I mentioned regarding Healing Solutions, DoTerra's Patchouli didn't sweep my off my feet. I mentioned DoTerra because it can be similar to Young Living which is sold on Amazon. ... show more

  • Not Bad
Size: 0.34 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This oil smells like patchouli. I mix it with witch hazel and use it as aftershave. It keeps bugs away better than anything. This oil doesn't seem to last as long or be as strong and some others I have used but it's overall a solid product.

  • BEST SMELLING PATCHOULI EVER!
Size: 3.3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Absolutely--the best patchouli I have ever purchased. All essential oils are not created equal. It is rare that I go out into the marketplace or wherever in public when someone doesn't say how good I smell:)-- or really they are saying how good "Plant Therapy" patchouli smells. One bottle lasts me two years. ... show more

  • NOT THE PATCHOULI I KNOW
Size: 0.34 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I'm giving it 3 stars only because I cannot rate it and it is not what I expected. That is my fault. I should have taken note that it is "therapeutic grade." Also "plant therapy" should have also clued me. I bought it as I buy other essential oils for the oil burner for room fragrance. And patchouli is one of my favorites. This patchouli oil has a medicinal smell. It is used to combat nervous disorders, dandruff, sores, skin irritations and acne. Reading the tiny print on the label it goes on . . . used as an anti-flammatory, anti-emetic, antimicrobal, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, antibiotic, astringent, diuretic, deodorant, fungicidal, tonic agent and I missed some others in between. The fault of my disappointment is my remiss in not paying better attention to what I was buying. It's not fair for me to rate it at all. For all I know, it should be rated 5 stars for what it is intended as a plant therapy. If one can judge quality of a company by its packaging, the label and bottle would get it 5 stars. Who knows? I might have found something I like when I find some use for it since I am into homeopathic or natural remedies and alternative medicine. ... show more
