  • not for every bike
this unit a few good points. but definitely a few bad ones. i like that it takes the headlight off the handlebars and places it center of the bike. it comes with the standard quick release mount (for planet bike lights at least). one of the issues i have with it is, on my bike at least, where it mounts puts it right at the point of contact with the frame should the front wheel and handlebars swing all the way to one side. causing it to smack right into the bike frame and if not tightened down really, really tight. it will move the assy. out of alignment. i have a two leg central mount kickstand that lifts either the front or the back tire off the ground while deployed. whichever end is lighter, which is usually the front, will raise off the ground and i’d free to swing one way or the other. which is what usually happens. when it does the mount smacks right into the frame. this caused me to acquire different hardware to ensure i could wrench it down so tight that it would not budge when it swung into the frame like that. it seems to be holding up fine now. a second thing i found a little frustrating is that u can direct the aim of the light u attach up and down. the problem is there is no way to lock the position once u find one to ur liking. if u are like me u will want to leave ur light on there unless u have to lock it up outside a store or something like that. when i’m at home my bike is in a secure location so i don’t need to worry about it being stolen or things attached to it being removed. that and the fact that i use my bike nearly every day means i don’t like removing the accessories i have attached to it. so the light stays attached to the mount most of the time. when a time comes that i need to use the light. i reach down to turn it on. pushing the button on the top near the head of the light. this causes the mount to shift the aim down. so i m required to approach this function with some awareness as to the possible result of my actions. not like when the light was mounted on the handlebars and it did not move when u went to turn it on or off. the last issue i have i don’t know for sure if i would describe it as an “issue”. but the light is so low on the bike that if it is pointed down to shine just a couple of feet in front of the bike, it will be shining mostly on the front wheel. now this blocks some of the light from reaching the surface of the road but it also lights up the wheel making the bike even more visible. not that i need that with all the lights i have on my bike. but if u don’t have so many lights this might come in handy. i would still recommend this product to someone looking for an alternative to the handlebar position for their headlight. but with caveats. ... show more

  • Just what I needed!
Mounted on my Kona Rove without any issues. Sits nice and tight to the frame/fork and offers a lot of flexibility for adding your own light to it. Best purchase I've made for my bike in a long time!

  • Great for use if you can't use a handlebar bracket
This is great to use for anyone that has a handlebar bag which would block the light. However, when I put my bike in the back of my Subaru the shifter cable gets caught on the bracket and the cable gets bent. I'm able to straighten it out but I wonder if eventually it will interfere with smooth shifting. If my cable was longer it wouldn't cause a problem I don't think. ... show more

  • Very well made !
Other than the longer bolts were junk, bad threads! This product is great. Just had to go buy new bolts and nuts.

  • Good quality Headlight bracket.
Good quality Headlight bracket. NiteRider head light won’t fit as it. Have to remove the slider out of the NiteRider handlebar mount and bolted on top of the one that comes with this bracket. After adapting the NiteRider mount it worked as I want it. If you are using NiteRider head light and don’t want to get crafty do not get this product as the NiteRider head light handlebar mount won’t fit on the bracket. Do not even try to use the provided bolt. The provided bolt break as I was tightening and end up using an automobile grade bold that I found in my toolbox. ... show more

  • Read Before You Install
This item is well built and works well, with one caveat. Recommend NOT using the self locking nut that comes with the bolt. I was able to tighten the nut about a half an inch with no problems. However, I still needed to tighten about another quarter inch, but it would not go anymore. So I tried to unscrew it, but it would not go back. I tried a dozen times, but the locking part of the nut would not loosen up. I had to break the bolt and replace it with another bolt and nut. ... show more

  • Use some belleville washers to mount
This has worked well for me to mount a headlight. I ended up buying a longer screw to fit my bike. I also used a neoprene washer to prevent scratching the forks of my bike. Most importantly I used a stainless-steel belleville washer to prevent loosening of the mounting bolt. Amazon has a few nice belleville washer kits from Hilitchi. ... show more

  • Working great
Bolt is a bit longer than it should be, wouldn't be an issue but the threading stops just short of where I need it. Threw a nut in there as a spacer and working great.
