I purchased this tool to cut deco mesh and it works well. It definitely helps to prevent fraying. It’s easy to use and hold, and it was a great deal compared to others I looked at. It seems to be of good quality and should last a long time. I would recommend it!

I'm a gardener, not a wood burning artist. Plants pots can cost quite a bit of money and I had a lot of 5 gallon buckets and other large plastic containers that would make fine plant pots if I could find a way to put drainage holes in them. I saw a tutorial online about using a wood burning tool to melt drainage holes for plants in 5 gallon buckets. So I ordered this one because it was basic and low priced ,from a trusted craft brand. It's very simple to use, plug in and switch on. I used the pointed dotting tip and it melted perfectly round holes in all of my buckets and pots.     • Not bad for beginners who want to try pyrography for cheap
This kit is ok for a beginner who's just curious about trying pyrography, like I was. Not a good long-term purchase. I bought this two years ago and I've used it about 5 times since. Last week as I was switching out the bit, half of the tread broke off into the tool. I can't use the tool anymore because now no bits will screw into the tool. It worked well the few times I used it, however I did have to turn off the tool after about 45 minutes because it would get so hot my knuckle would start to slightly blister. After it cooled and I gave my hand a break I could continue on my project. I'm going to replace this kit with a different one that has a heat guard and more bits to try out. Hopefully the bits aren't as brittle as the ones in this kit. ... show more

Bought this tool to work with foam for crafting. heats up very high and has an inline on/off switch. No temperature control in case that matters.
