It does work for what it’s intended, holds my drink and slides under the couch. My question though is why isn’t the top board one piece? Why is it cut into two pieces? I highly recommend this easily assembled, space-saving side table for light objects (a book, a phone, a sandwich etc.). It shouldn't be used for bearing heavy objects, a full dinner plate, beverages or balancing oneself due to the C-shaped design. The side table surface has no raised sides to stop items from falling off and the metal bar base could easily trip someone. Sudden movements and/or heavy weight can cause the table to get wobbly. Perfect little laptop & dinner table. Surface size is great & height is great. I have a computer desk & sometimes I like to grab the laptop, & work/eat while on my comfy leather rocker. I'm 6-3 and the hight of the desk was a big concern. Must have 4 inches to spare from the desk surface to my knees while sitting - which is awesome. This table is rock-solid sturdy. Doesn't rattle at all & there are adjustments that can be manipulated in order to tweak to level against the floor. Not sure who said it wasn't sturdy but that's not true. I can slip the bottom under my chair & under my bed in order to gets things closer or just get out of my way. Top does not fold down to store under bed or make more room, but who cares. I'm constantly using anyway. I really couldn't be happier with this desk and it was one of the cheapest on Amazon with that amount of surface space & the design that I wanted. Have fun. Oh, pretty easy to put together. You really cannot screw it up & directions were easy to follow. The extra table piece that extends the surface area is very sturdy too.
