I first purchased the Rane 72 mkii and 2 X Rane tweleve mkii. The Rane tweleves were defective and would match beats perfectly. So I returned all three. Then purchased this Pioneer djm s11 se, and it is hands down a better mixer in almost every way. The pioneer display is clearer, it sounds better, and has better hardware effects. I even like the Magvel crossfader much better then the Rane 72 mkii. The pad are also much nicer and a bit larger than the Rane. And the layout is perfect on the Pioneer djm s11. So much easier to know what is what. Even in dimly lit areas. The only area that I liked the Rane 72 over this Pioneer s11 was with how you select headphone cues, and the pioneer headphone volume level isn't ideal. But not a deal breaker. In comparison, I could live with these two things in order to have all the pluses that come along with the Pioneer s11. And lastly, the Pioneer placement and functionality of the level leds for each channel and master volume are much better. On the Rane you had to look all over the mixer to see the channel level and master volume leds. Using the effects on the Pioneer djm s11 se just felt like second nature, and they sound amazing. This is definitely a world class mixer, and I couldn't see anyone being disappointed in it. And really hard to believe that in a side by side and usage comparison that anyone would rather use or own the Rane 72 mkii over this mixer. I've been DJing for almost 20 years and counting, and tried both mixers for days now. I'm very happy I choose to pay a bit more and get the quality I've always know and loved with Pioneer mixers. ... show more
