So I'm not certain the value is really $28. That said really it's such a cute kit. Our 3 year old can do it with some close supervision and a small amount of assistance. So much fun. It's not actually really painted on the canvas side. There's like more of a vinyl side. But much simpler than others so a win for a preschooler and mom to have time together. This is our second one. Will probably buy another.

I love pbn's, and now I love pbns for kids too. I didn't know these were a thing. I know they have color by number for kids and those color in felt black things but I've not seen real paints for kids yet atleast not like this nifty set. My son loves it, it's easy for him to use with his little kid hands and it produces a nice product that he can feel happy about.

I bought this set for my visiting niece, however she never got around to using it so I stepped up as a product tester. Personally, I am more like to watch my kids paint then to paint myself so please know that I did not have any special adult painting abilities before giving this a try. This set makes the project simple since it arrives with the canvas, paints, paint brushes, and great instructions (additionally, the circular tube was going to be great to store the finished work to send home with my niece on the airplane). At first glance at the fairly small pots of paint, I thought it unlikely enough paint was included to finish the project to my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to see how little paint was needed and how long it lasts with each dip of the paintbrush. With one even coat of paint, there was good coverage but I could still see the numbers underneath close up. After drying, a second coat of paint remedied that issue pretty easily. Overall I think this is a great, high quality kit with a canvas that is nice and thick and will last a long time. You can definitely hang it on a wall. I would have given it 5 stars, however $28 (at the time of writing) is a bit expensive for one art project for an 8-12 year old. Again, you are getting great quality and if you have a kiddo that will really spend a few hours of time on it, then the value might be there for you.

I have several of these Pink Picasso kits, both for adults and kids, and I always end up having the same thought about them: the packaging is great and the designs are kind of cute, but very boring. This one with the butterfly is intended for kids, so I get that they don't want to put in very small details, but really, a bit more of a challenge would have been welcome.
