I bought this to use for a trip to the UK as I heard pickpocketing can be a real issue there. Forgive the pictures as I've had this for a few months now. Not only is this soft and beautiful (I got the leather) but it's easy to carry,convertible,and really protects your stuff ! The design does what it says to keep your stuff safe. I came back from my trip with no issues of theft. The main pocket isen't exposed and it keeps your goods safely out of sight under your back. There is multiple pockets for a phone, map,change,glasses earbuds etc When I tell you this is one of the best mini backpacks I owned ! **UPDATED REVIEW** I want to provide more feedback after using this bag for 8 hours a day for 10 days on a European vacation. I am not changing the star rating but do have some things to note after using the bag that may be helpful to other people. (1) The beige color stains easily. This actually happened before my trip. I took the bag to the movies and a greasy, popcorn fingered child (mine) touched the bag and left a grease stain behind. I could not get it out. (2) After walking around for a while the straps loosen and require readjustment/tightening. (3) The metal strap buckle actually rubbed a hot spot on my right side. This may be just me though since it only occurred on one side. Maybe the bag just fell on my particular body oddly. (4) There is one large compartment which I thought would be fine. Yes, there's a small zipper interior pocket. It fits a passport and phone and nothing else. And there are a couple of credit card size pockets that everything just falls out of. After having to dump the entire contents of the bag to find what I was looking for several times I've come to the conclusion that I am not a person who can work with one large compartment. I need more interior organization since I am unorganized :) This is a stylish bag, I never felt like it stood out as a tourist backpack. I felt like I fit in with the Italians (maybe wishful thinking but it's not a backpack, backpack). It is safe from pickpockets since the bag opes in the back. If you are a person who won't be lugging around a unch of stuff than this may just be the bag for you! **OLD REVIEW** I purchased this bag to travel with this summer. I road tested it and then decided to just use it even when not traveling. I purchased the Khaki which looked sort of gray in the pic. It's not an ugly khaki pant color. It can look rosy and greyish depending on the light. It is a fantastic neutral if you don't want black. The bag holds more than expected. I had one 20oz h2o and one 42oz h2o along with a wallet, a power bar, some keys and still had lots of room. The bag wasn't even heavy considering how much water (in metal bottles) was in there. I was concerned the thin straps would dig into my shoulders when the bag was filled but happily surprised it was not the case. Yes, the bag is accessed from the back. I saw some reviews complaining this made it inconvenient to access. It's also what makes it safe from pickpockets and thieves. I found that if I dropped the bag off one shoulder, keeping it on, I could still walk and access it. The opening is large enough to fit an 11" tall 3" wide metal water bottle. So I believe the access opening is large enough for my needs. It won't fit a computer, maybe a mini ipad but not a big one. It seems sturdy. The material is like thick nylon and it looks stylish enough to traipse over Italy with so I won't look too much like a tourist. Came with a fluffy ball zipper pull that comes off. I gave it to my 13-year-old. Also a green tea bag inside. The bag did not smell. Great buy! ... show more

I just received this bag, and I'm so impressed I had to leave a review. It really is a nice looking bag, and the size is perfect. Just enough for all your everyday essentials, and maybe even some more. The quality of the bag seems good, the zippers all look well made and work great. The hidden zipper side pockets will be great to throw those items in you want to quickly access, like phone and keys. I didn't think I'd like the fluffy little attached keychain, but it's actually cute, not too much fluff and just adds a little extra style. It doesn't bother me, but as some other reviews mentioned it may be made of real fur so take note if that's a concern. Also, as others mentioned it was a nice added touch that it showed up with a scented sachet and smelled good, not that funky smell like some new bags can sometimes have. The only con I can see is that with the straps in the back, it does add a little difficulty in accessing the main compartment. But to me, that's worth it for the added security of the main pocket being against your back, and the ability to use as a backpack. Also, the side 'water bottle' type compartments don't fit any of my aluminum bottles. But those are just small inconveniences, it doesn't make me love this bag any less. I can't speak to the durability of this as I just received it, but it does appear to be well made and I don't have any concerns about it. I'll be using it on an upcoming vacation and will be great for switching between using as a backpack and then a purse when you don't want to look so touristy with a backpack. If it holds up well I'll probably order again in another color I love it so much. Added 6/30: I just wanted to add that after a 10 day vacation to the Smoky Mountains I still LOVE this bag! It held up great, even used it on a few small hikes and was perfect for carrying just what I needed to keep with me. I loved the fact that the main compartment is against my back so didn’t have to worry about theft in the tourist areas. Also, I wanted to add that this bag is definitely waterproof. It rained on us just about everyday and nothing in my bag got wet at all!! Even in a few heavy downpours! UPDATE 5/23/19 -- I came back to look at this bag again to consider purchasing in another color and was surprised to see all the reviews! When I first bought it there weren't many reviews and now there are a thousand plus! I wanted to come back and add that almost a year later and I am STILL using this bag every single day and it's held up great! I'm talking a full school year of carpooling my kid all over town and being tossed into and out of the car constantly (the bag, not my kid). There are days I know I'll be at school volunteering all day so I carry my full heavy yeti bottle plus all my essentials and it still holds up. I mean I'm practically beating this thing up to give myself a reason to purchase a new one and it's still going! Not even one single small tear or fray or malfunctioning zipper. I'm usually the type that changes purses every couple weeks or so but I still love this bag so much it's been the only one I've used all year! ... show more

I bought this specifically for a 2 week vacation overseas. I used it as a carry-on, a purse, and as a backpack to carry stuff. It is large enough to hold everything - including a tablet or small laptop, two stuffed animals, a sweater, a scrunched-up raincoat, wallet, keys, passport, makeup, lotion, etc. There are two side pockets that were perfect for even oversized bottles. The fabric held up well to some ill treatment. The wide straps were comfortable and never pinched and made it easy to pull the bag on or slide it off my shoulders, even in crowded or tight areas. Overall it was what I had hoped for. The only thing is, there are two internal pockets that do not zip up and they were pretty much useless - too shallow. Anything I put in either pocket, once I went back in to get it, had popped out of those pockets. Lip gloss, room keys, hand lotion - it all popped out again and fell to the bottom of the bag. (There is one zipper pocket which did stay zipped and worked great.) Overall, it worked just like I'd hoped and I'm pleased with my choice. ... show more
