  • Excellent Shaker!
Size: 1 Pair (Mirror Polished)
This the first Boston Shaker I have owned that felt "professional" and not a cheap knock-off. Very heavy duty and easy to use. I highly recommend it!

  • A beauty of a shaker, but give yourself time...
I already had a Boston shaker, but after reading about the glory of using a weighted shaker, I did a bit of research (*cough* I talked to bartenders *cough*) and found out this was their home shaker of preference. Good enough for me. The order was filled quickly and arrived in perfect shape, and I immediately stuck it in the dishwasher before its first use (and yeah, if it ain't dishwasher safe, that's a dealbreaker for me) and put it to work shortly thereafter. After using unweighted shakers, it's gonna feel a bit different in your hands, but give yourself time -- you might also not get a good seal the first time, because you're not accustomed to giving your shaker the kind of satisfying *SMACK* these encourage, if not require. It'll also take some getting used to the right 'feel' for breaking the seal when you're done -- I've seen some reviewers throwing theirs in the sink in disgust. Won't work, trust me. Just give the inner shaker a good push with your thumbs and it'll ease off. Anyway, these will quickly become your go-to shakers, in large part because their heft makes them so satisfying to shake. ... show more

  • Don't Touch My Piña!
Seriously, these are amazing. Everything this company makes is amazing. I worked in a high end dining & nightlife spot on the Las Vegas strip for over a decade & my only regret is not finding this brand earlier. Just bought my 4th set, one was a gift, one was lost & I can't have just 1 set. I don't want to use anything else, especially the cheap, thin, lightweight tins every bar provides to those that don't bring their own. It's literally night & day. I've engraved my base of my tins so nobody can wander off with them & they're thick enough I put a couple ring engravings on the side of one set so I can keep multiple orders straight when slammed. ... show more

  • Didn't realize how good it was until I used a cheap one
Size: 1 Pair (Mirror Polished)
I've been using this shaker daily for months. It always struck me as perfectly fine, and I didn't think much of it until I visited my parents and picked up a shaker from a local store to mix drinks for them. The differences between the two are night and day. Perhaps the one I picked up out there was just a piece of junk, but where it failed really highlighted for me where the Piña model excels. Now that I see how good I had it with this shaker, I feel compelled to recommend it. Great Features: --Seals tightly with a good smack on the bottom of the smaller piece when set at an angle. I've never once shaken anything into my face with the Piña model, but the cheap one always seems to leak a little bit. --Releases very easily with the standard method for Boston shakers (hold with the larger piece on the bottom and with the top piece tilted towards you. Apply thumb pressure on the top piece away from you, and smack the side of the bottom piece. The top piece flips to the other side with a satisfying snap, and lifts right out.). The cheap one was extremely hard to release after finally pounding a good seal into it. --It's seen many cycles in my dishwasher, and has been completely unfazed by it. Some people in these reviews have commented negatively on the weight of the shaker. It is certainly heavy than the average, but I don't think it would be a problem unless you're shaking hundreds of drinks a night, and perhaps not even then. Either way, I'd call it a non-issue for home use. I've also seen comments about the bottom caps coming loose, but I have not experienced that. It seems as though the manufacturer has changed how the caps are attached, and corrected a previous issue. So there you go. It's a simple device, but perfectly fit for task. ... show more

  • Heavy duty feel and perfect for high volume bartending
I wanted to buy a more sturdy feel for a shaker and looked around and found this one to weigh significantly more than the Koriko brand. It can be kind of heavy at first but it feels so secure and i have never had a problem with the tins being difficult to separate. Let a few of my fellow bartender buddies try it out and i got them hooked. So we ended up buying a 6 pack of these tins directly from the website and found that to be a better deal. Cant wait to try other products this brand has to offer. ... show more
