I was planning on using this in my experimental Mustang. Fuselage width is narrow. Ad states it works with the iPad Mini but it only will if used in the landscape mode and I need to use it in the portrait mode. The mount will not support the mini in the portrait mode as the mount is off at one end. If you were to pull the enclosed strap to try and hold it, you would lose all blood flow.... Not Cool I put in it the recycle bin and it's not worth sending back. It would be idea for a phone.

I am using this item to hold a heavy smartphone where it is visible, as it serves as the viewing screen, app and recorder for a camera drone. It has plastic parts rather than metal, but locks securely in position. I am impressed that it has grippy waves in the knee band, which keeps the smartphone from twisting around due to weight. Very pleased with it so far.

I was using the latest iPad Mini 6th gen and even though it is relatively heavy, it's the tablet of choice for pilots using Foreflight and such. This product is just way too unstable as the heavy tablet flops forward and just won't stay up at all. And that's what most pilots need. The laydown books for iPad make the pilot move his head down and forward too often and that's just unsafe. If they would only have a vertical piece of plastic that balances the weight up and down the leg this would be a 100% winner. But right now ... pretty unusable if you have any decent tablet. Sorry UPDATE --- The company has gotten back to me on my negative review and offered a full refund as well as offered a few ideas on how the product will work for me. I mistakenly said I have the 9th gen iPad Mini but it's actually the 6th. That little guy is really heavy which still causes issues with this product. And even though I am able to use the holder while the Mini I laid flat on my knee it wasn't why I ordered the product. I am raising my 1 star to a 3 simply because of how the company handled my review. A respectable company with a "meh" product is still worth the time and keeping track of and I'm betting we see some of the changes everyone is requesting in the next release. Thanks, guys!

I searched for a long time before finding a solution that is secure and has great orientation options. The cockpit of the Diamond DA40 is comfortable and provides spectacular visibility, but it also has notoriously limited space for mounting/holding essential compute and display devices to provide charts and flight path and planning utilities. Because of the tight environment, I use a relatively small device, an iPhone Pro Max, with Foreflight to fly both VFR & IFR. This device is wonderful; the grip on the smartphone is perfect and the wide adjustable band secures the unit to the thigh equally well. I never fly without it.

It’s exactly what it is supposed to be. A holder for your phone or tablet onto your leg. It’s perfect. I wasn’t expecting a rock-solid mount. It’s on my leg. I wasn’t expecting zero movement. It’s on my leg. I wouldn’t want to mount something in a location it might get in the way of something else. I’m using my leg so it will not interfere with any control. Reached out to company with questions. Received reply within hours. Super friendly. Perfect for what I need and wonderful customer service.
