This is the simplest aviation clipboard, no frills, no extras, just a sheet of metal, an elastic band, and a clip. But that's perfect for the use-case I needed it for. Not much to go wrong, and very slim and minimal. Keeps charts or a notepad in place without the bulk of some of the other options out there. Kneeboard is a nice compact size, well designed, fits perfectly on my leg and does not interfere with controls. The lack of a quick connect clasp is not a problem it stretches and belts on the leg easily enough using Velcro alto it does take me 2 hands to attach. It is best to strap it on before engine start you probably will have used it by then anyway. I found that a mechanical pencil the size of a standard yellow pencil does not lock firmly in the pen holder my inexpensive pen does fit snugly see photos. There is a quick reference on both sides that is a good use of normally unused space. The reference is useful for planing not so much when attached to leg because both sides will be covered. If I ever get light signals from the tower I hope I will have this pad with me. I like the reference has white letters on the black background I can read it at night if needed. ... show more
