I use this product mostly for outdoor field inspections for airport and construction projects. The surface of the metal clipboard is easy to write on.     • Roomy, with a strong, but it could be better
Using this for doing notes and quotes for a handyman business, and this clipboard works well -- large enough to hold paper, business cards, a small tape measure, flashlight, pencils, etc. Because I am using it as a "mini toolbox" with all these items, I used some adhesive-backed velcro to keep everything from sliding around (which is loud in the hollow aluminum box). As other reviewers mentioned, the corners are sharp, so I am careful when placing it on customers' tables (to avoid scratches). The clip at the top of the clipboard is strong, and holds papers even in wind. A small improvement would be to have the clip be "deeper"... it only holds the top 3'8" (approx) of the pages. I would prefer if I could insert the first 3/4" under the clip, for more security. Even with the minor complaint, it does what I need it to! :) ... show more

    • A Little Flimsy but usable
This is a little thinner than what I was used to, this isn't as stiff as the metal ones our father's and grandfathers used but still good. The clip holds strong, it does stay closed well, it's not flimsy is just not thick. It's also not heavy so there is a tradeoff. Overall I will use it for as long as it lasts. ... show more

    • This thing is great for keeping my paperwork together
I'm a trucker, so this works great keeping my BOL's and receipts together for the week! One trip it bounced off of my passenger chair and somehow wedged itself under mine. My air seat bounced up and down on it and bent the clipboard a bit, but it is STURDY, and it still works fine!

    • Clip is shallow and a bit weak
Clasp doesn't extend over far enough to get a good grip on a page / document. Also wish I had gone with the one that opens on the same end where the clasp is located. This one works, I'm just particular/ picky, not to mention Left-handed.
