Description

The Dr. Grip family has a writing instrument perfect for everyone. Based on the need for a more comfortable writing experience, Pilot introduced Dr. Grip in 1995—a pen and mechanical pencil collection designed to reduce hand fatigue. In 1996, the entire line earned the Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation. A 2012 study by Georgia Tech Research Institute found Dr. Grip Center of Gravity nearly 2x more comfortable than leading competitors for users with and without arthritis. I'm someone who gradually starts gripping my pens tighter and tighter as I write, so by the time I'm finished, I've got a death grip on them and my hand is cramping badly. I'm also someone who enjoys writing letters, so as you can imagine, that's not the best combination. I bought these pens to try to alleviate that problem in any way I can. I like that they are a thicker pen with a good cushion to them. The shape naturally helps you keep a better, lighter grip - and the cushion helps with comfort, too. I haven't gotten any blisters or callouses from using these. I can write for longer periods of time because my hand doesn't grow as tired as quickly. I've also found that it helps keep my handwriting from growing smaller and less legible...because usually the tighter my grip gets, the messier and more cramped my writing gets. I have ordered these pens before and I loved them. However, this time around, They’re all defective. Two of them came w/ the ink cartridge on the outside. I can’t put the green one back together, the only one that had the cartridge on the inside of the pen, the top portion keeps spinning and is unstable. It seems like they were returned and sold again even though they were noticeably trash. They didn’t even come packaged the same. I literally can’t use even one of the pens. ... show more

I have an older Dr Grip that seems to weigh just a bit more, making the pen feel more balanced than this newer pen - Pilot Dr Grip frosted. Including name of product as at times I read reviews and see they are not for product they are linked to. For the price the pen is of decent quality. The clip looks a bit “fragile” as it’s a fairly narrow and thin plastic piece. The grip is very comfortable, wider than most pens which seems to put less strain on fingers and it’s covered with gel. This feature is why I like these pens. They are really easy to refill, saves you money. I have had my other pen for years- it just had been misplaced. Imagine the plastic saved if we all stopped using disposable pens! ... show more
