But also a lot of the time can not do that either cause I had to get this for my anti seizure meds since they changed how they wrote them and I feel like it didn't cut them in half properly sometimes and I got more headaches or dizziness more often when I got the improper dose. This cutter does cut a pill in half but there may also be small pieces. This may be due to the texture of the pill. And If you don’t use the pieces the dosage needed may not be sufficient.

It works great for pills that are round. One of my pills is oval and it doesnt always sit in place correctly, but thats no fault of the cutter.

Easy to use and very effectively split pills. Didn’t like that portions more often than not we’re slightly different sizes. However, the difference in size of split parts was not significant

I used a different style of pill cutter before, and it was much harder and messier to use. This one is so easy to press and makes clean cuts! And the tray that the cut pills slide into is perfect for assembling several cut pills at once. I use it to cut enough pills for 7 days at a time.

I’ve tried just about every splitter on the market and this is the absolute best! You can actually see the pill every step of the way as you cut it. However two salient points : 1. Always cut with the hinge in the upright position! If you point the hinge down the pill can fall out! For allot o of medication this doesn’t matter, but if you are splitting narcotics, it can mean losing an entire dose. 2. Only order the standard gray splitter. I tried the brown one and it didn’t completely split the pill which was a disaster! ... show more

I have a very small pill, smaller than 1/8", and using a cheaper pill cutter, as well as trying with a razor blade, always created a mess. NOTE: cut SLOWLY - don't snap down the case otherwise the pill will break into fragments - if I go slowly is usually cuts cleanly. Very pleased with this.
