I have an elderly mother who lives alone. It has been a real struggle to get her to take her meds. I bought one of these as a last resort and it has worked miraculously. She used to forget to take her meds 50% of the time. With this dispenser she fails to take her meds only 2% of the time. It is a little bit complicated to program and refill but it gets easier after using for a while. To program it definitely requires someone familiar with electronic devices. To refill it requires an understanding of how the dispenser works.

My 95 yr old mom was getting confused with taking pills several times /day. She likes the way this dispenser alerts her each time and we no longer have to worry about her making a mistake with her dosing. I was concerned that ,because her morning dose contains several pills , she could drop them from her hand. We told her to tip the pills into a box lid we gave her and problem solved - no more concerning phone calls. The unit is sturdy and locks securely. We should have bought it months ago!

I loved the idea of this pill dispenser! I know it’s helped my mother who just started having dementia. The bad thing I’ve dealt with is when her morning alarm sounds off, and if she’s in a mood & decides to ignore it she slides the dispenser door open & doesn’t take the pills (or forgets to) just to have the alarm shut off. I checked on her pills the other day & they were sitting there with the door slot open. The locking feature & the alarm are helpful. I also like that I can add more than a week of pills in this dispenser!

My elderly mother was having trouble remembering to take her daily pills or taking too many pills, thinking she didn't take them as her memory is not what it used to be. I can finally relax a bit and not feel like I need to run over daily to check whether she took her meds for the day. I was worried she would tell me to take it away, but she actually likes it. She doesn't have to remember to take her pills --- the automatic alarm and lights do it for her!!

I used this product for my opioids and found that there is many tools around the house that’s the same shape. If the key was made differently it would be a lot better.

My 85 year old mother in law with Alzheimer’s can’t remember to take her medication. This dispenser isn’t too heavy for her to handle, and the first time she used it she said “That was easy!” We’ll see how long it works without any problems, but I am very pleased so far.

Everything working well now. At first, with the backup batteries installed, disconnecting AC power resulted in a clock loss. Once the unit was plugged in for perhaps a day or two, loss of AC no longer resulted in a clock loss. Seems like an odd choice in modern circuit design.

I'm currently caring for a family member with Alzheimer's who cannot remember to take their medication on time. This device accomplishes the task of keeping the pills secure underneath the locked plastic cover (so the patient can't take them all at once) and alerting the patient when it's time to take medication. PROS: ■ One month in, I'm still on the first set of batteries with no alerts about them being low yet, so I would rate the battery life as GOOD. ■ Loud alarm with a flashing green ring makes it impossible for the patient to ignore their medication. ■ Light and easy to carry ■ Pills are securely held in place, even if the dispenser is turned upside down ■ Construction seems fairly solid While this dispenser functions adequately, there are a few issues that need attention: CONS: ◆ My device loses time at around one minute per week. So after three weeks, the alarm sounds at 6:12 instead of the set time of 6:15. So you'll need to keep resetting the clock to ensure accurate medication schedules. ◆ The device beeps LOUDLY even when adjusting settings, configuring schedules, and setting the clock. This volume will hurt your ears and confuse the patient, who may think it's time to take their pills because they hear the same beeping. You can't set anything during the night without risking waking others. ◆ As you can see from the pictures, there is a label that says OPEN right on the front of the device; this has caused the patient to continually attempt to open the lid to get their pills, nearly breaking the dispenser. I think it would be better if there were an arrow pointing to the little sliding cover or no label. ◆ The thin cardboard rings do not stay in place and often pop up when refilling the dispenser. OVERALL, if you can manage these issues, this is a good dispenser that has taken some of the burdens of medication management. (edited to correct typo)
