Well worth the money if you or someone you love struggles with long term use of a controlled substance and don't want to abuse the medication. I've been on adderall 23 years and haven't had to increase my dose in 10+ years because of it. I've purchased an older model that I call "the tank" because it has obvious metal frame that I've tried and been unable to break into. The metal gears inside are what really makes it tamper resistant in my opinion compared to anything else on the market. In moments of desperation I've tried to put something inside the dispensing end to force it to the next dose but the gears can't be moved that way. ... show more

Unfortunately this product malfunctioned after two weeks and stopped dispensing medication altogether and causing an medical emergency. It is incredibly expensive product but if it actually worked then it could be worth it. Upon initial receipt of the product, the padlock and key were not compatible (wrong key in package) so I purchased a replacement at a local CVS. I called this company about the issue and the phone agent said she would speak with her manager and get back to me. I never heard back which is a red flag and now the pill dispenser is not even working. I called the support phone number and there is no answer. I will have to return the item. ... show more

Extreamely well made. This will do exactly what it says it will. For me this will make our lives much easier. The price.......is the only issue. I can't see much more than 50 to 75 bucks in materials. This thing costs more than six times what it would cost to make one. Seems excessive. But, for what I need it for I might have paid even a little more. The excessive cost also will keep me from breaking into it. If it cost 100 bucks or less, or what the cost is to build it, i could be inclined to break it open and buy another one. But, not at the cost of six timeas that. I bought this for my brother who is abusing his prescription meds. This is definitely tamper resistant and is working for him. However, it probably could be opened with a sledgehammer or such. In that case nothing could keep them from getting in. The metal outer shell is heavy and well made. The inner dispenser portion is plastic. This dispenser is very secure with multiple locks. Got this because an elderly family member dismantled a less secure dispenser to get at the meds. This is probably overkill but I like feeling safe. I also like that there are 2 sets of keys. Outer box is secure metal locked more than one way.

Customer service from ePill was amazing. It is great to deal with a company who does the right things. 1.) I purchased this for a client of mine who is on government benefits, and it was quite the undertaking to gather $600 for her to purchase this. We needed it right away in order for her to be discharged from a care facility. I simply wrote an email request to have the shipping expedited without charge, and they did it. 2.) Upon receipt there was a screw which malfunctioned and they immediately replaced the item and included a paid return label. 3.) To top it off, they have an excellent return policy -- they genuinely want the product to work as intended for the user, and if there are any problems they remedy. About the product -- What you see in the picture is the product completely put together. That outer shell in metal, with a steel cable locked into the dispenser, with a loop on the other end and a brass lock so you can securely tether it to a bed leg or some other stable item. This way, it doesn't get lost or walk off with someone seeking narcotics. Also, there are three different keys each opening a different lock. This device is not something anyone could ever break into without the keys. When the outer shell is removed, inside is a standard automatic pill dispenser. There is an additional screw under the latch of this inner device. That screw has a separate key, which is smaller than the others. The key is to be inserted and turned only a 1/4 turn, not forcing it. The directions are not clearly stating this, see page 2, it says a 1/4 turn on another lock, but not this one. On page 7 are the rest of the instructions for opening this piece. Mine malfunctioned and they immediately sent me a replacement (see #2 above). Nobody is breaking into this device! ... show more
