Love the design and how it's supposed to be comparable to one of the name brands. However, the ball isn't very lively when it comes off the paddle like I would expect. Might just have a dead spot here and there which could be a one paddle issue and maybe yours will be great. Love how it looks though, just not crazy about how it plays. Poor control on the paddle, not very good with touch. It says this is for those that are intermediate or advanced but I disagree. The price might be in line with that but the quality is not. Maybe it's an issue of a 14mm paddle. Maybe if this was 16mm it would be performing a bit better.

Nicely boxed. So definite gift potential. USAPA approved paddle list - list date: 11/14/2023 Comes with an orange grip that can be used to overgrip, if you need. Case is made of neoprene and nice and soft to protect the paddle. As well, comes with a nice clip hook mounted on the top that you can hook to the fence - smart design. This is an elongated paddle design. Which means great for tennis players. Comes with an aerodynamic tunnel design. Must small cutout than the Selkirk's, but built for the same premise - paddle speed. This paddle is about power. With the carbon fiber face, thermo molded structure - it's going to generate speed. As well, the grit on this face was done very well. We'll have to see how well it holds up over time - will report back. But now you toss in a lot of spin that you can generated.. This is a potent combo - power/speed + spin. It is a 14mm thickness, thus lending itself on the power side still. Now, can you control this paddle, i.e. hit dink shots or resets, etc.. sure, but it will take some practice. If you like to play the soft dink game at the net, the grit on the face will help you roll the ball (top spin) over the net very well. One test I like to do is start playing with a paddle I'm testing, hit several points of various shots, then go grab my much more expensive main and back up paddles, do the same thing and cycle this path over and over. If do not miss a beat, then the paddle has promise. I did not miss a beat with this paddle. Btw, one of my paddles I cycle in and out with is a Selkirk 12mm Power Air - so used to the cut out benefits, expect to hit high speed shots, as well, expect and impart a lot of spin. This Bliss paddle gave me all of that. As a fraction of the cost of those other paddles. As well, thrown in a nice neoprene case that has a hook.. extra grip included if I need to go larger than the 4 1/4" (standard) circumference. Btw, the grip was almost identical to the feel of my SLK. Nice octagonal feel which allows me to spin the paddle in my hand easily for those baseline top spin shots from either side. Paddle will cover from beginner to advanced players. It is tournament ready. Designed for power and spin. Grip is solid, easily allowing for spinning the paddle for eastern to continental to western grips. Btw, this is a thermoformed paddle. Thermoforming is a process that bonds the layers of a paddle together using heat and pressure. This process results in a strong and durable structure with a sealed edge design that enhances the paddle's performance and durability.

I should really qualify my headline. It's a great paddle, period, just an outstanding value if you catch at a discounted price (at time of review, reg. price $149.99, on sale for $139.99, add coupon for $89.99) which puts this on par with most other newcomer/generic Gen2 paddles. A nice neoprene paddle cover is included which has a clip to hang on fence (personally, I'm cutting this off as it gets in the way for me). A bit deceptive as most of my other paddles that are RAW carbon fiber face with peel-ply texture, so you have that matte, rough, raw carbon feel. This paddle has a shinier face that looks slick, but their "microspin+ dura texture" face really grabs the ball and spin and control are quite easy. Also, despite no mention of foam injected edging (a common Gen2 feature), there isn't excessive vibration on off-center strikes and balls squared up are rewarded with smooth feedback of feel and sound. Control and power are both good enough to carry you to an advance level. I recommend this for people transitioning from 16mm to 14/13mm and the hybrid shape and aerodynamic cutout lend itself to speed and power. My paddle weighed in (before edge tape and overgrip) at 8.18oz/232gr, a bit on the heavy side for a cutout paddle, however I didn't notice any significant impact on hand battle speed at the kitchen.

This is a very nice paddle. Packaging is first rated. Nice cover included with a clip at top. No free balls which I don't care. The grip is small at 4.25 inches, so well suited for most people. Some paddles have 4.5 inches grip then you must have big hands to use it. This includes a grip tape if you want to increase the size. I like the grip which is very soft and sticky. No raised rail bumps, but not an issue with this nice grip. Paddle is long and a little narrow, so you have a little more reach on balls far away. Balls come off this paddle with a very crisp sound. The surface is very rough, so you can apply good spins too. 14mm thickness is printed right on the face of the paddle, which is nice. Color is very classic, with orange on top of black. Aero tunnel does seem to help when you swing hard. Overall, this is a very nice all-around paddle. With the huge coupon available now, it's a no brainer really. If this is in your price range, you really can't go wrong with this one unless you are an advanced player. In that case, so for the most expensive paddle you like the best.
