This is my first set of paddles and balls that I’ve gotten and I think they are great. I’ve played with lots of different types of paddles with my friends and roommates in college, and I think these are great starter paddles. They’ve got a nice grip and weight to them that makes it pretty easy to get used to them. The bag that comes with it is really nice and makes it pretty easy to transport everything. That being said it doesn’t really transport too much more without it being a tight squeeze if you bring all the paddles and balls along. I definitely recommend this if you’re getting into pickleball and are gonna keep up with it! ... show more

This pickle ball set is definitely one that will get use in our family. While the handles are wrapped with a rubber tape that does look like it will wear over time it comes with 4 extra roles of tape. We have played with higher quality paddles but I am fine with this quality for some driveway fun hitting a ball back and forth. The bag just barely holds all 4 paddles and balls but it does! It comes with what appears to be 4 different sweat rags. We personally do not have a need for these but kids have had fun tossing them around! Overall I give this a 4 star, and it is only missing 5 stars due to the handles (at least they provide that extra tape for when it wears out!) ... show more

If you are looking for a pickleball set to give a friend or for a family to have a fun time with, look no further than the Hozzen set here. If you take a look at the photos I included of everything in the box this set comes with- everything you are going to need for pickleball fun is at your fingertips with this purchase. And I really think it's a lovely set for beginners, those who haven't tried out the game but want to. Because there is definitely enough to go around- and with four paddles you can even play teams- double up. The paddles have a nice design and hit the pickleball quite well on the court. They are lighter paddles and, if you are just starting out until you know how your wrist can handle paddles, I would use a low weight and paddles like these (since they are lighter ones). The grip is wonderful, soft, cushiony, and holds up well throughout a game. But if you need grip tape, it is included- and enough for all four paddles. So, you can even change the grip by adding more tape if you want to- to make the handle comfortable for you. Actually, there are four of everything in the bag- one for each person (except for the one carry bag, which is one person's job, to carry it all ;) Four pickleballs are included so you have one for each player. Also, there are four different color sweat towels, along with a gray carry bag. And that was what attracted me to the set in the first place, the carry bag. Because, I think, the fact that it is made to carry four paddles, it was made with a good amount of room. And you can actually fit everything in the entire box in this gray carry bag. The strap is the coolest too- because it is one strap but if you feel like carrying it on both shoulders, you unzip it down the middle and- then there are two!! Sometimes a game can really tire me out- I'm getting older but I still need exercise and I wanted to do something fun for it. That is why I picked pickleball- no big pressure playing the game, it's a good workout and if I need to quit or take a break- it's no big deal because I try and play with people who, while they take playing seriously, they don't take winning seriously (or maybe a game with me). They just want to have fun like I do. And for me, that's the way a sport should be played. At least at my age! The best thing about the set is while the paddles all have the same general design, they are all different background colors- yellowish green, pink, green, and blue. So they all match in a way but are different because of the color. And luckily the sweat towels are all different colors too- cause I don't think (no matter who you play with) that you want to pick up anyone else's and use it- just make sure to remember what color towel is yours! ... show more

I played pickleball for the first time today with some friends, and got to compare this Hozzen set with theirs. The other set is perhaps the most commonly recommended for beginners (hint: synonymous with "activefriends"). Between the two paddles I actually prefer playing with the Hozzen. They have a bigger footprint but weigh a little less and have a more even and comfortable weight distribution for me. The other paddle I tried seemed a bit sturdier, but also a little too heavy, and with that weight mostly in the paddle face. That slowed me down and put stress on my wrists and arms. I also I have an existing injury (tennis elbow), and the other brand aggrivated my tendons more in 5 or so minutes than the Hozzen did in an hour. I can't rule out that some would prefer more weight, but I think the Hozzen are better for me as a beginner here. Less effort and strain to maneuver. (The trade-off is a bit less power. ) To be fair, my friend tried both paddles as well and didn't have a strong preference between the two. He's also taller and doesn't have tendonitis like I do. The grips were similar in quality between the two brands. I like the slightly tacky feel of the Hozzen grips. My only wish with the Hozzen here is for a slightly smaller footprint on the paddle face. Last thing I'll mention on the paddles is the face material. The Hozzen face seems to be a slightly textured hard plastic. Pretty similar to the other brand. I was able to get a bit of spin, better than expected really, but I imagine pricier paddles would see greater spin and control. I do really like the bag and large cleaning cloths that came with the set as well. The bag is smallish ("pickleball size"), but there's plenty of room for the included items and then some. It seems high quality and can be used as a single or double strap, pretty nice. The balls seem fine too, and pretty similar to the other set. I didn't test out the replacement grip tape. Altogether I think it's hard to go wrong with this as a beginner set if you like the look of the paddles! And easier on the arms than the "activefriends". I'll definitely give pickleball another shot with these. ... show more
