  • Okay beginner paddles for the price
Color: Grey
The media could not be loaded. I've been playing pickleball for a few months and have tried quite a few paddles from beginner to expert in that time. I would classify these at the lower end of what I've tried except for some very old and super basic wooden ones. First the positives: they are USAPA-approved, meaning they can be used in tournament play. They look nice to me, but the I am partial to the understated gray and black aesthetic. Now the negatives: I played a game and some practice with one of these paddles and thought it felt just okay. I didn't notice any glaring dead spots, but I wouldn't say they felt particularly lively either. I asked my daughter-in-law and grandson to try them; neither cared for them much and quickly went back to other paddles. The handles are 4 1/8 in diameter which is at the very lower end of the medium range. I have bigger hands and prefer at least 4 1/4, if not 4 1/2. I know this doesn't sound like much difference, but it is definitely noticeable. These paddles are also extremely light at 6.85 ounces. This is almost a full ounce lighter than any of my other paddles. I have a feeling that this is one reason that neither my daughter-in-law nor my grandson liked them. Both of them tend to be power hitters so the lighter weight would likely have had a negative impact on their play style. My grandson also thought that the paddle felt poorly made, he said it "rattled" when he hit the ball. He noticed that the edge banding wasn't attached very well and thought this was probably the cause. If I pull the edge band away from the paddle I can hear where there might be some adhesive, but it isn't doing its job. I checked my other paddles and the only ones that had the same issue were another set of very cheap beginner paddles. The edge of all of my other paddles is firmly attached. I don't know how this looseness will affect the longevity of the paddles, but it definitely makes them feel cheap. The balls are about what you would expect from off brand two-piece balls, and I would recommend replacing them immediately. The case is on the small size but otherwise fine. There is only room for two paddles and four balls and maybe wallet and keys. It has a little padding and should protect the paddles from incidental damage. The paddles do not have individual covers, but they shouldn't be expected at this price. For the price, I'd say that this is an okay starter set but I would recommend spending a little more, if possible, to get a better set. I am torn between rating these three or four stars but have decided to go with four due to the low price. ... show more

  • Intro to Pickleball Set
Color: Grey
First off, never played Pickleball so found these. We aren't pros but have had fun using these the few times we have played. While playing had some other say these are good beginner set after hitting with them a few times. From a price aspect, would look at these if seller is offer a % off. Otherwise, we were considering another set that had similar review scores but had 2 more paddles. This would have been nice considering a family of 4. Quality aspect, no issues observed and paddles still look in good shape after the few uses. Uses do include from children too. I also appreciate the storage bag, easy to take with as well as store everything too. ... show more

  • Simple set
Color: Stripe
I started playing pickleball over 2 decades ago when the only paddles were cheap plywood. I haven't played in a long time and wanted to grab a newer set. These are certainly a nice upgrade compared to my old wood paddles. These are very light weight and seem to hit firmly. They will work well as a starter set to be able to play around. ... show more

  • Fun game!
Color: Stripe
This pickleball set seems pretty good quality. It comes with two pairs of slightly different balls, which will fly a bit differently. I like that the "whiffle ball" style of ball is pretty easy to hit, even for a novice. I look forward to playing more this summer!

  • Very good lightweight graphite pickleball set
Color: Grey
I have been playing pickleball for over 2 years and I try to play at least once a week. I have used various paddles of different sizes and weights, but these are a good choice for players who are wanting to get started in pickleball and want to have a set that will perform well for several years, even as their skill level improves. These paddles weigh in at 7.2 ounces, which of all my paddles is the lightest (lighter paddles allow for quicker movement, but have less hitting power). The surface is firm and hard, and seems to propel the ball harder and faster than my average paddle. I don’t know if its’ true, but I think that the carbon fiber is responsible for the “harder and faster”. This, however, is the only graphite paddle that I have played with. The grip seems to be the ordinary circumference, but it is about 1/2” longer than average, which makes this handle my longest, and may be helpful for bigger hands. (I notice and appreciate the difference) This seems like a quality durable paddle that will endure years of play. The balls that are included are quality indoor and outdoor balls that have the stiffness of a name-brand ball and perform as expected. But while the balls are good, they don’t quite compare to the balls that might be used for tournament play. The included bag is perfect for storing your gear, and is made of lightweight material and a decent quality zipper. ... show more
