The Garye came in at quite light 7.68 oz with a balance point of 9 7/16ths . The listing states a 4.25" grip circumference and a 5.25" length. It's actual size is 4.125 and the length is the same as other paddles I have that advertise a 5.5" length. It's a typical octagonal shape, and the paddle is definitely fully thermoformed with sealed edges. I choose to play it at stock weight with just the additions of a tournagrip and head tape running 10-2 resulting in a total weight of 7.89 oz. The paddle comes with a neoprene headcover and 2 additional replacement grips (not overgips). Also of note is the stock grip is a nice flat grip not one of those horrible contour grips that a lot of no-name companies use. It's also on the USAP approved list. Oddly, it comes if 3 different graphic options with 2 of them coming in both blue and purple variants (XL-1 through XL-5). Each graphic option is its own listing on Amazon. I choose the variant with the most understated graphics. I've now got ~5 hrs on the paddle over 2 different sessions; the second half of yesterday's and all of today's. The paddle plays on the control side of the thermoformed spectrum and I had zero issues switching to it mid session from my Ethos Arete (another control oriented thermo). It's got that nice dense/plush feel where you can feel the ball being "pocketed" on shots. So much better feeling than the empty/hollow feel of the Selkirk Vanguard Control Invikta I bought and then returned almost immediately. Does it perform better than other thermos on the market? Nope, but it also doesn't perform worse (assuming you aren't looking for a rocket launcher) and it does so for just $50. I'm sure it's just a white label paddle from one of the big manufacturers in China that is making paddles for a lot of well known brands. ... show more
