Description

Founded by Cincinnati native Catherine Baxter during the quarantine lock-down, Nettie paddles are designed to bring joy and victory to the pickleball court with the perfect blend of price, quality, and style. The Ashbury takes its inspiration from San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, which has all sorts of rainbow murals and bay windows. The Ashbury Classic pickleball paddle is a midweight paddle with a honeycomb core, carbon fiber face, and a cushioned handle made with vegan leather. The large sweet spot and vibration- dampening core creates balance and control that’s ideal for beginner and intermediate players.

  • Light weight comfortable grip stylish Pickleball paddle
Color: Ashbury
I have owned this Pickleball paddle for three months now. It has been a very comfortable, light weight and sturdy paddle. The grip has continued to be comfortable but not too slick. I wish I could say it greatly improved my game but I do feel the difference between my cheaper paddle that I started with when learning. Not as many dead zones on the paddle and I don't find that it gets wonky shots off the edge as much. It goes without saying that it is a paddle that looks good too with the vibrant colors and pattern. Makes me happy every time I pull it out of my bag! ... show more

  • What I needed!

This not only looks great but it also feels good in your hands and helps me play better.

  • Great looking and draws a lot of attention during play
Color: Pendleton
This is one of the best paddles I have used. I have already turned 12 people to buying their PB paddle from Nettie. This paddle really stands out among all the plain paddles out there and it has excellent control and feel. I wish I would have established with Nettie as the local rep, because it is by far a product that sells itself. Great product in a sea of mediocrity. ... show more

  • Yeah, This should do just fine...
Color: Bedford
I was about to purchase a Onix Z5 (of which I have used), but found the Nettie compared favorably and also was a better deal on prime day. So I bought one and used it today for the first time. At first, the handle felt too short, but by game 4, it was getting pretty comfortable. So like anything, it takes time to break in and get used to. Bottom line is, I've only been playing for a few weeks, so I can't say if it helped my game or not. For the price, it appears to just as good as most everything else in that $65-$85 price range. ... show more

  • A Good Paddle...For The Money
Color: Bedford
I have been playing racquet sports-tennis, racquetball, ping pong-for almost my whole life. The latest is pickleball, which I took up almost five years ago. I played as frequently as four-five times/week. Playing so much, and being fairly competent, I use an upper echelon (read, more expensive) paddle. This one I am reviewing is less than half the price of the more expensive paddles for the sport, which now can go as high as about $250.00 or so. Thus this review must be tempered by the fact that a paddle at the price of this one should not be expected to perform at the level of those costlier ones. Yet still the question remains, is it worth getting at any price? It is certainly not an unattractive paddle, even if not quite to my more minimalist and darker tastes. I do wish the handle color was not brown/tan, my least favorite color. The handle is long, which allows me to switch hands, something I (and not many others) regularly do. I also prefer a more elongated rather than boxier paddle, as this one is. But these are all personal preferences. You may like the paddle as it is, or not. But ultimately any paddle or racquet is not about looks but rather performance. And as far as that, this paddle is not bad for the money. The handle is not bad-as I mentioned it is longish and not too thick, which is good, again, at least for me. I find the handle a little soft although I get a pretty decent grip with it. The paddle is very light, maybe even lighter than the listed eight ounces. Control with the paddle is pretty good. Where it falls short for me is in the power department-it just does not have the oomph that I am accustomed to-not an atypical fault with paddles in this price range. I played several games with this paddle and was not embarrassed using it. However, it will not replace my regular paddle (a Ben Johns), nor did I expect that it would; indeed, given that it is about a third of the price it would be shocking if it could. Nor did I get the paddle to replace my other-I wanted a backup and to lend to people who want to try the game. Should you get the paddle? Depends. In its lane, as a lower cost beginner (and maybe intermediate) paddle it is fine. If you only plan to play sporadically and want to keep costs down this is a perfectly good choice. However, if you think you will play more often and/or more competitively (and keep in mind pickleball is not a complicated sport and you can play spirited games real quickly) I would say invest the extra money and get a paddle that will serve you in the longer term. Again, to be clear, my rating herein is predicated upon the fact that this is a lower price priced paddle and I am rating it as such. ... show more

  • Lightweight and functional
Color: Bainbridge
This is a very good paddle. It is lightweight but well balanced which to me these are the most important when playing. I am no expert player but have some experience in racket sports (paddle, squash, etc.) Ergonomics are great feels comfortable to hold without slipping. Recommended

  • A Definite upgrade over fiberglass paddle!
Color: Ashbury
This carbon fiber paddle has a noticeable difference from a fiberglass paddle. There is definitely a more solid sweet spot and more power with less effort. The paddle has enough grit on the face to allow for a good amount of spin to be placed on the ball. The paddle is balanced well and feels good in the hand. It is a bit on the heavier side, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing, more of a preference, and may not be noticed by a newer player - it actually may be a good thing for a newer player. The handle is slightly on the thicker, again not a bad thing, more of a preference. The handle feels really good in the hand, and the leather allows for minimal slippage, even when my hand is sweating. The paddle also looks great and is very high quality. I would recommend it for a beginner to intermediate player! ... show more
