Ok, I'm an artist. An oil painter. I stretch my own canvas. Always linen and always perfect for whatever I'm going to paint be it a portrait, a landscape, still life, or... land's sakes ! a nude. These canvas are an incredible value for the money. First, ok... you're a painter, right? You wanna look at your painting surface first. It looks well primed and the surface is very interesting. I sort of looks like linen but it also looks like cotton. Hmmmm, "Linton??" Yeah, that's it! It's a cross between linen and cotton. It's wonderful to paint on. The stretcher bars are sturdy and there's a center bar for added support ( 18 x 24" ) of the canvas. The canvas was stretched perfectly. It's hard to get that right and these folks have. Pro tip... wet the back of the canvas with a mist of water... just get it slightly damp and let it dry overnight. Your painting surface will be nice and tight. Wonderful canvas. If there's a better value out there I don't know it. ... show more

These are great canvases for the price. They are well made, sturdy, all of mine were stretched tight with no give, the corners were all pulled and stapled tightly, no funny odors, and they were all gesso coated just as described. I had minimal package damage and some of the gesso was slightly rubbed off on one corner of the top canvas but none of the canvases were damaged. I have only used them with acrylic paint but they work perfect for it. I have ordered some oil paint to try next so I'll update once I try them with it. I am happy with these and will def be buying them again. ... show more

Nicely packed and nicely stretched. Unlike other canvas packs I've had to deal with in the past, these you just unwrap and every other one is individually wrapped for added protection. These cotton canvas pads are superior quality and surprisingly for such an inexpensive price. Great!

WARNING: I'm a complete noob so take this with a grain of salt. After all the great reviews I am disappointed. Most of the canvases are very loose (see photo) which led to puddling. There's a lot of value here for just playing around with pour painting but I don't think I'll buy this brand again for anything I care about. Possibly these could be tightened but no wedges were provided. ... show more

Is this some kind of joke? Watercolor canvas? I am painting right now and it’s not working! Not working at all! The water is pooling on the surface and not getting soaked. I am extremely disappointed because I ruined my morning work and the whole painting. I will use the rest of the canvases with acrylics but this is completely NOT what I was looking for and expected. I never write reviews. Ever. But I feel compelled to do it now to make sure future purchasers of this canvas know what they're getting into. I bought this brand of canvas twice. First in 16x20, and then 12x12. To be clear: This is, at best, student grade canvas. At worst it is twisted, warped and unsalvageable garbage. To start, it's paper thin and the gesso isn't much better. This should be expected for the price. So, be sure to seal it with something like GAC 100, and then gesso several good coats. If you do this, you'll have something worth painting on. But before you do, go order some canvas keys... and be careful. The canvas is so slack it feels more like a parachute than a painting surface. Yes, it's hyperbole, the parachute... but not by much. Because it's so slack, the keys -- at least the ones I bought -- are easy to punch through the edge of the canvas. Here's where you will be reminded of the phrase "paper thin." I kept forgetting, so I kept punching through it. That's on me all the way. So learn from my mistakes on that one. Finally. the stretcher on the larger size canvas is so warped that I may just junk it. I added some pictures to show what I mean by warped. OH, I nearly forgot: I found one instance where the maker put a staple in the stretcher on the canvas side. IN BETWEEN the canvas and the stretcher! It wiggled loose and created a divot. The good news is that the aforementioned parachute problem allowed me to get in there and pull the staple without puncturing the canvas. So, you win some you lose some. My verdict: If you have any expectations that you will do something with this canvas that will see daylight, do yourself a favor and buy something better. If you're like me, and you're just goofing around with paint, do yourself a favor and buy something better. ... show more

These are pretty good canvases for the price. My issue with them is that they aren’t wrapped as tightly as they could be, leaving give when trying to create something on them. Also, the way they were shipped leaves room for improvement. While they had the air pockets in the box, they were only positioned to keep the product from moving side to side.
