    • Great Futon, Just Set Aside A Few Hours For Assembly

Great futon, i wanted something I knew would last, and that came with everything. Not just a frame, with no mattress or vice versa. The product was set to arrive today, I received it a day early, yesterday afternoon to be exact, so kudos for fast delivery. This one is brand new and you can still smell the fresh stain on the wood itself. Which means it hasn't been sitting collecting dust in a warehouse for months. Which is great. Putting it together like most products of this size, is/was a pain. I recommend anyone putting it together, not to go by the piece numbers, simply go by the colored dots that are on the wooden pieces. We figured that out after spending to much time, trying to hard to get the pieces matched up. Haven't put in the drawers yet but I'm sure it'll be great. The comfort is second to none, and I've slept on many beds, couches, futons, and this is by far the most comfortable I've slept (or sat on) yet. Like typical wooden products it does creak a bit, but not annoyingly so. Also it has almost no give with the super strong springs inside the mattress. It's like laying on a nice pocket of air. Even when folded in the couch sitting position. Also it's very easy on the eyes and goes great in my retro apartment. If it falls apart or I start having nightmares about being attacked by Bears I'll update my review. Good price, good quality, great comfort. Enough said. ;o) ... show more

We needed something for our family room that could hold up against my cats! I found these at our local furniture store that guaranteed they would meet the price, well they couldn't. I didn't fight with them, I just ordered them from Amazon! They are exactly as pictured. They have the arm "trays" and the drawers. They are a great dark brown... oh by the way I bought two of them. I had to sleep on one of them for two weeks after I had surgery. They are very comfortable. They aren't a plush sectional, so don't expect that level of comfort. However, I love them and they are holding up great! They do take some time to put together, and requires two people. One of them does creak when you sit on it, but I still love them. We have looked at a lot of futons, couches, and even considered having something made. We wanted something that our cats couldn't scratch up the arms. We also wanted something that looks good from the back, not metal or unfinished. These are nice all the way around! ... show more

We ordered this for our game room/guest room. The mattress is more mattress like than futons past. It’s firm and comfortable as a couch or bed. My husband put it together without hassle, it didn’t take very long. The directions were straightforward and all parts/pieces accounted for. First and foremost, Kodiak Furniture has excellent customer service! When my futon arrived the hardware kit for the main futon frame had apparently been cut out of the box, but I reached out to Kodiak Furniture and they attempted to next day ship it within a matter of minutes. Due to weather issues at the time the shipping was delayed, but their speediness with getting the kit out to me was fantastic. As to the futon, overall quality is quite good. Managed to put it together on my own, but two people is ideal to avoid damage to the futon. The comfort of the mattress is decent and what you would expect from a higher quality futon. The storage drawers make it look great and allow for a perfect place to store bedding. ... show more

Mine smelled very strongly of fish when I first got it. Thankfully the smell dissipated in about a day. Assembly wasn't too bad but definitely requires an extra set of hands. My main complaint would be how loud it is when trying to sleep. There's enough play in the tracks that the pegs jiggle noisily when rolling or adjusting in sleep. IMO it is an attractive piece, so as long as it doesn't see a ton of use as a sleeper it's a good addition to a spare room. ... show more

I wanted to share my experience with putthing this together alone. The bottom and Back are easy to place together alone, they color cordinated the pieces so it was easy to follow the videos on the website. The frame was a little tricky because you have to put two beams together but I used a wall to help me old one of the arm rests. Then it became a piece of cake! Now the hard part, Oh my placing the bed and frame together. I took my time and carried the bottom and back of the bed close together so I can carry it in the middle. The frame is strong enough to hold them together so don't be nervous. Make sure you leave some space with the frame screws so you can wiggle it in the slots. I walked in the middle and place it gently in. The instructions was straight to the point and the videos and color coordination was genius. Thank you for this product. Total time it took me to put it together is 1.5hrs Not bad pat on the back! ... show more
