Somehow the concept that this specific trimmer was NOT designed for face or beard eluded me amongst the cries of adoration from citizens of planet Amazon. This is a BODY TRIMMER ONLY and the directions state quite clearly that this should not be used on face or beard. In fact, the way they designed the shaving side of this pivoting head it would be very difficult to use on the face because on each side of the foil there are more bare shaving bars exposed. Excellent quality, battery life, ergonomics. This shaver does work quite well in hard to reach areas. Works very well wet with shaving cream. Works well of every area except beware. Be very careful of the edge trimmers on either side of foil head! Although this is an overall delicate machine, these edge trimmers WILL snag and cut your skin if you are manscaping your balls. I was pretty disappointed that this occurs since it's what almost everyone needs it for. But if you work slowly and carefully to not drag the leading edge trimmer forward INTO your skin, it won't bite. Instead, Keep the foil part in contact, and let the trailing edge trimmer drag behind and it wont bite you. ... show more

As far as I understand this is the follow-up of the popular Philips Norelco BG2040/49. The design is very modern and well executed. It does not come with a stand like the BG2040/49. It can easily lay on its side or on its face. I've only used this device a couple of times, but it works great so far, no cuts or nicks in the skin. The metal you see isn't real metal but plastic with a metal coating making it feel a little cheap. Unfortunately I can't compare the performance of this item with other similar devices, but it does excellent at what is is supposed to do, making this an excellent buy. Not sure whether this version has huge improvements over the previous version BG2040/49, personally I find the design of this new version a little more modern. ... show more

If you guys want a personal body trimmer this is the best! Worth the cost - trims body hair and personal groin area. You have NO cuts or burns using this trimmer. I highly recommend and keep you body hair under control and neat!

This trimmer does a great job, but you better read the instructions and follow them to the letter. The trimmer side has a length range from 11 to 3. I didn't pay attention the first time I tried it (it was set to 3 out of the box). It took me 5 seconds to realize I was doing something seriously wrong, because it was literally ripping hair out instead of cutting it. Ouch. Switched to 11, the longest length. Worked great. Slowly kept reducing the length one notch at a time. Also great. The other "shaver" end though. Meh. Kinda sucks. Use the clipper end to get everything really short, then finish up with a regular razor if you want to go that smooth. That razor end is really bitey. ... show more

I really don't know how this thing is 70 bucks. It is utter garbage. This has to be one of the loudest trimmers out there. It sounds like a hedge trimmer. Battery life is less than advertised too. I've only manage to get about 20 minutes before it's asking to be recharged. I've only had about 2 cycles on the battery too? The foil shaver side is completely useless. It pulls and tugs hairs even when going very slowly. The trimmer(s) to the top and bottom of the foil shaver also cut poorly. The other side of this is ok at best. The adjustable length is nice, but still cuts poorly and is easy to move the length accidentally. This will cut you too. Yes I know how to shave. I've since thrown this piece of garbage away as my 10 year old plug in Wahl trimmer that was 30 bucks cuts much better. ... show more

Overall it works, but you still have to be careful. Got a little too confident and still managed to nick myself in the sensitive area. Bought this over some of the other options due to the reviews saying it’s foolproof and let me tell you, it’s NOT. Need to take it gently, but it works. FYI - This thing is like pulling a hedger out of the garage. Thought it would be much smaller, but it definitely takes up some serious real estate in the bathroom drawer. Already have one shaver for my face, now I got this contraption too. Starting to feel like a woman with all my bathroom “tools”. ... show more

Oh man. So... I initially came to buy the manscape lawnmower 3.0 OR 2.0. I'd see the ads, watched the shark tank episode. They seemed so good and exactly what I was looking for. I almost got the 2.0s but then I read the comments. I winced at many of them. I actually felt the pain as the male reviewers described their experiences. The nicking of the sack. So I clicked around looking at the recommendations the Amazon algorithm sent me, and I came across this Philips Norelco body groomer. Many said it was nickless... Ihad my doubts, but I was woofing and tired of getting caught by what ihad been using. I took a shot. A father's day gift to self. They actually arrived on Father's day. I was slightly taken aback because the instructions were printed in a strange order (bottom up , right to left), but soon figured it a out. I put it to charge and went about my day. When I came home, I decided to try them out. I was nervous, I'd been hurt before. I started with the pits.. No razor burn.. my confidence rose. I was ready. First I did my patch above the big guy and the inner thigh. No issues. Time for the moment of truth . I lifted up, and went under. Not quick, but not super slow either. A steady pace. My confidence built. I went a little faster, apued a little more pressure..... And then all of a sudden..... Iwaz done. Mission complete.. clean and smooth. No nicks. Not one. I even applied rubbing alcohol to a trimmed areas when done. No burn. I'm so happy with this purchase. They're easy to hold and use. Definitely recommend. I don't know about battery life yet. ... show more
