  • The device casing fades and chips overtime will not last more than a year or 2 over priced
Style: Calla - Extension
Don’t waste your money overpriced and not well made from hardware but software works well. As you can see the top of the housing unit has faded and began to weather. This is not even a year. Made in China crap.

  • Philips does not support their products
Style: Calla - Extension
I purchased Hue Calla outside light. After the first freeze of the year, the light stopped working. Trying to get support help from Philips is impossible. I thought that since I paid a higher price for their product, they would be responsive. I could not be more wrong. After 6 emails requesting 20 pictures of the light, its connections, under power and not, the ghosted me. No one should buy this product. The company's customer service, out of Bangladesh or wherever, knows nothing about the technical specs of the product and clearly there is no process for defective returns. They will keep pushing you until you give up. Don't buy this product. YOU ARE THROWING YOUR MONEY AWAY... ... show more

  • Phillips hue outdoor lights
Style: Calla - Base Kit
The media could not be loaded. Phillips Hue outdoor bollards and spots are amazing. Great build quality. Easy installation. The only complaint was with Phillips hue pre order I was on the pre order directly with Phillips hue and waited months and months very little communication. And after waiting months past the release date they finally just cancelled my order and blamed the factory. Roll out of this product was a complete mess. But amazon was able to come thru for me with them finally and I couldn’t be happier. ... show more

  • Water ingress (2nd of 4 purchased in 6months)
Style: Lily - Extension
I love my hue lights and have spent more than I’d like to tell my wife on my Hue ecosystem Indoors & outdoors. It appears however that these hue outdoors spots have some form of manufacturers defect as today I have seen a second hue spotlight with water ingress (of 4 in total) only 6 months after purchasing. The first failed within 3 or so months. If you plan to install outdoors exposed to the elements, I would perhaps wait for a revised genII or some form of feedback from Philips that they have made a design change to fix this. ... show more

  • Great product, but had connectivity issues
Style: Calla - Extension
First of all, let me say I am a Philips Hue convert! I LOVE the color-changing possibilities! These were bought for path lighting along my driveway. The style is great, and the light is fantastic. The problem is that I had serious connectivity issues between the lights. I had seven lights placed about 18 feet apart, all in line-of-sight with no obstructions. I was routinely getting connectivity issues between the lights, to the point that half of the lights would change color while the others would not. It was never a problem getting the signal from the hub (or a different Hue light) to one or more of these lights, but was definitely a failure of these lights to communicate to each other. And it was not a defective light, as the connectivity issue seemed to effect different lights at different times. I ended up reluctantly returning the whole set. ... show more

  • Expensive ... but Oh So Worth It!!
Style: Lily XL - Extension
I have a strong preference for Philips Hue lights. I have several in my home and use the Hue Lily and Lily XL lights to accentuate our outdoor living space. My experience with the Hue lights has been excellent and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who is seeking to create a unique outdoor look. These lights are expensive. You can buy a whole set of landscape lights for the cost of one Hue Lily spotlight. That said, these lights are well worth the cost. They are very well built and well designed. They cast more light than any landscape spotlight I have seen. We live in Minnesota where the winters are cold and the summers can be hot. We have never had any issue with these lights failing in these harsh climate conditions. What I like about Hue lights is the seemingly endless options available for lights colors and vibrance. There are multiple apps available from Philips and third parties that allow these bulbs to show their full spectrum of possibilities. I can set an endless array of color patterns and lighting effects ... all from the app on my iPhone. Installation is simple. The included cable is easy to connect to the Hue power pack (sold separately). The cable uses a threaded fitting that ensures a solid waterproof connection that is never at risk of being disconnected. The lights create their own wifi network which is very convenient for outdoor applications. The instructions state that the first light must be within 30 feet of the Hue hub (sold separately). My experience is that they will reach well beyond that distance. Each successive light can be within 60 feet of a connected light. Again, my experience suggests the lights will extend well beyond that stated range. Why is this important? The wifi network the bulbs create for themselves is what allows the app to change light colors and intensity. I have never experienced sluggishness or delays when changing light colors. From app to light the change is instantaneous. I highly recommend Hue outdoor lights to anyone looking for a unique approach to outdoor lighting. These lights will allow you to realize whatever your mind can think of ... and more. ... show more

  • Nice product. Price tag is as high as possible.
Style: Calla - Base Kit
Chassis and stake and trim ring are metal as I expect at this price point. Easy to set up. Cable is nice and thick. Transformer is sturdy. I did hear it’s not so bright, like a lot of HUE stuff, but it’s well made so far and probably has very good color rendition unit-to-unit like other HUEs.
