I've always used a regular razor to shave my legs and underarms when bathing because I prefer to lather up when I shave. I'm not a hairy person and what I do have is very fine and blonde so I can go a while without shaving before it becomes noticeable. The problem with that is I sometimes forget about shaving altogether and then one day I have to run out for something, reach down to tie my shoes and there's a small forest growing on my legs. I don't have time to lather up, but dry shaving with a regular blade is harsh to my skin and causes a rash. I had never tried an epilator before but thought this might be a good solution to my problem. If I suddenly realize I need a shave, I can just grab the epilator, do a quick once over and be on my way. Or so I thought. As someone else previously stated, this product does not do so well with fine hair. It will shave, but it definitely takes more than just a once over to get it done and even then it's impossible to get a smooth shave. However, it's still faster than lathering up and it doesn't hurt my skin. So even though it doesn't perform as well as I had hoped, it will suffice when I need to give my legs a quick shave at the last minute.

After years of using simple, disposable razors, I tried out this rechargeable Philips Epilator for Women Facial Hair Removal Device, Womens Shaver & Trimmer, Leg Hair Removal for Women. Cordless. I was pleasantly surprised that the epilator hurt less than I remember. So, they must have made some advancements in that technology since I used one many years ago. So, I do plan on using the epilator head on my legs in the future. I like that this epilator is rechargeable, so that I don’t have to be near a plug to use it. For more delicate areas, such as my armpits, the epilator is still too painful. So, I tried the shaving head instead, and it was ok. It did not give me as close a shave as my razor does, but it worked. The reason why I deducted a star is because I had some difficulties when I tried using the shaver and trimming head in the shower. The shaver head was pulling on the hair I was trying to shave, which hurt. So, I tried using the trimmer first, but the comb kept falling off and it took way too much time trying to get it back on. The instructions say to only use the trimmer with the comb. After a while, I just got frustrated with how long all this was taking, and I just put it down and used my razor instead. This wasn’t the only accessory I was having trouble with. For instance, I had no idea in what direction to put the efficiency cap on or how to use it. Neither the included instructions nor the product page were helpful. The included instructions are also annoying to deal with. Instead of including a compact booklet, they put all information on a foldout bigger than most newspapers. Practical, it is not. Overall, having multiple devices in one is pretty useful; especially as the different heads are easily interchanged. The ability to charge and to use this epilator in the shower are also nice features. Improvements can be made with the instructions and the accessories.

This is a complete set of epilator that comes with a lot of useful accessories. The build is very sturdy and feels like it will give you a long lasting use.
