I was honestly a little scared to try an epilator for the first time. I had always shaved, but I was getting tired of how quickly the hair would grow back sometimes in just a day or two. I wanted something that was better for my skin and would last longer, so after seeing a lot of positive reviews about the Philips Epilator Series 8000, I decided to go for it. At first, it was a little painful, especially on more sensitive areas like the underarms. But I had already read that it would get easier, and it’s true after a few passes, I got used to it. The device is easy to handle, and I love that it comes with different attachments, which made the whole experience more comfortable. I used it on my underarms and legs, and I was genuinely shocked at how smooth my skin felt afterward. It’s been several days and there’s still no hair, which is something I’ve never experienced with shaving. I also didn’t get the usual irritation or razor bumps, which is a big win for me. What I loved: Hair-free for days (no stubble the next morning!) Less skin irritation than shaving Once you get used to it, it’s quick and easy Feels like an investment for long-term results What to expect: It can sting a bit the first few times, but it’s tolerable Works best on hair that’s not super short or super long Use it after a shower and exfoliate first, it helps! Only reviewing because it’s obvious a lot of the reviews are incentivized and this one is not! This device is life changing. I use it everywhere (yes, there. ALL of it). It was scary at first but once you get through that first time, it becomes so much easier to maintain. It’s actually more scary than it is painful if you really think about it, so just prepare mentally for it. I’m a weenie and I was able to do it with some self motivation lol. I am saving so much money and time that would have been spent on brazilian waxes. And while it’s not a pleasant feeling, it is significantly less painful than waxing because it’s not all at once. And I have zero ingrown hairs. You also don’t have to wait for all of the hair to come back, so it becomes MUCH easier after the initial session. I use it maybe once a week and the new hairs are more delicate and sparse so it’s super easy and quick. I definitely recommend doing it in the shower because it is less painful. I don’t find that it’s less effective that way as some reviews imply. I’m now doing my underarms too. I will never pay for a wax again! Works great. Be very careful around your labia. It is easy to have it pinch the skin. And yes, it does hurt when it pulls out the hair. Similar to tweezing.

My hairs are a little thin and the epilator doesn’t fully remove them. I have to help myself with some tweezers to get perfect results. Overall, it works really great! The noise is kinda loud it may be a little bit scary but the pain is really manageable!

I’ve been using this for my armpits for about 6 months, maybe a little more. It hurt a bit the first 2 times, but after that I don’t feel anything. I used to shave every 3–4 days, but over time my hair started growing back much less. I bought this to replace my old epilator of a different brand. This Philips epilator is disappointing. Compared to my older epilator, you have to do more than one pass to get much hair off. Even with multiple passings, it couldn't remove all the hair. The curved design of the epilator head didnt help. I had to revert to wax strips to remove all the hair left behind.
