Description

The Philips Avent SCF281/05 Microwave Steam Sterilizer kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria in just 2 minutes. It operates at a higher temperature than dishwashers, using the power of the microwave oven to create natural steam. Measuring just 6.54 tall by 11.07 inches long, it is small enough to fit in most microwave ovens. Its compact, lightweight design makes it ideal for use when traveling. Safety clips keep the lid securely fastened to the base, and side grips stay cooler than the rest of the sterilizer for safe handling in and out of the microwave. At full capacity, the Microwave Steam Sterilizer holds up to four 9 ounce or two 11 ounce Philips Avent bottles. An interior rack can also hold two Philips Avent breast pumps (non-electrical parts only) and up to four breast milk storage cups with lids. You can also use it to sterilize pacifiers, non-metal utensils and other microwave-safe baby items. If the lid is unopened, contents will remain sterile and ready for their next use for up to 24 hours. The Philips Avent Microwave Steam Sterilizer is BPA free.

I fill 10 oz glass bottles with filtered water for my three child household. I use a Berkey counter top filter and a reverse osmosis under cabinet filter to generate the amount of water we need and I only use glass bottles to avoid plastic in the water. We go through about 15 bottles a day. Dishwashing them meant we sometimes ran out of bottles and the bottles sometimes came out of the dishwasher with a sand like sediment inside. I had hoped these bottles (Syfo Selter bottles) would stand upright in the Philips sterilizer but the bottles were too tall. However, I can clean five at a time and turnover is rapid. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet. My baby is due end of August but this product came as described and looks easy to use to sanitize all newborn bottles and pacifiers. Excited to use.

I can't imagine sanitizing in a pot. This is so fast, easy to use and we throw it in the dishwasher every now and then to keep it clean. It has great capacity and is so convenient. One of the items we use the most from our registry!

This is a must register for on your baby registry! We use it all the time. I have no idea what we would do without it. I am beyond grateful I have it and would recommend it to anyone that is expecting. Only thing I wish it had was a timer that showed how much time was remaining on the cycle.

If you’re looking for a microwave sterilizer and are using the 11oz Philips Avent bottles, I recommend this one! I had the Munchkin microwave sterilizer previously and that one worked great, but I couldn’t figure out how to fit my 11oz Philips Avent bottles or my 8oz Dr. Browns bottles in it once I started using them. I can fit both styles in this one! (I can only fit 2 Dr. Brown’s 8oz bottles in at a time but 4 Philips Avent bottles. Not both styles at the same time.) I’m very happy with it and wish I would have gone with this one the first time around! ... show more
