Description

The Philips Avent SCF281/05 Microwave Steam Sterilizer kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria in just 2 minutes. It operates at a higher temperature than dishwashers, using the power of the microwave oven to create natural steam. Measuring just 6.54 tall by 11.07 inches long, it is small enough to fit in most microwave ovens. Its compact, lightweight design makes it ideal for use when traveling. Safety clips keep the lid securely fastened to the base, and side grips stay cooler than the rest of the sterilizer for safe handling in and out of the microwave. At full capacity, the Microwave Steam Sterilizer holds up to four 9 ounce or two 11 ounce Philips Avent bottles. An interior rack can also hold two Philips Avent breast pumps (non-electrical parts only) and up to four breast milk storage cups with lids. You can also use it to sterilize pacifiers, non-metal utensils and other microwave-safe baby items. If the lid is unopened, contents will remain sterile and ready for their next use for up to 24 hours. The Philips Avent Microwave Steam Sterilizer is BPA free.

Takes about 40 odd minutes to run a full cycle of sterilizing and drying. Holds 6 bottles and the rest of the bottle stuff on the top rack. Works well for pump parts too

The size of the sterilizer is perfect for avent bottles as described but also works well for other bottles. I was able to fit the large 9oz bottles. I also was able to use it for my pump parts. It works in a matter of minutes which is faster than other sterilizers. You can't sterilize a huge amount of items at once but since it takes so little time I can sterilize a lot in a short amount of time. The value for money has been perfect for me because I've already used it a ton in just the first week of baby's life. It is very easy to clean if you have a large enough sink. There is a slight plastic smell the first few times it is used, I just ran the sterilizer with no items in it and washed with soap and water in between. When you seal the container I have not experienced any leaks at all. Since it does have a decent amount of storage the appearance of the container is a little large. Which is a personal preference. This bottle sterilizer works great for busy parents. You just wash bottles and throw them in, put some water in the bottom and throw in the microwave! Great for getting bottles sterilized quick without too much hassle. We didn’t want a big one that you had to keep on the countertop that took 20 plus minutes for a cycle, and using the dishwasher seemed impractical.
