I replaced a set of 3 year old sylvania xtravision bulbs with these philips xtremevision bulbs. Its a bit brighter, which means theyre definitely not 100% brighter than stock as claimed. The xtravision claim to be 30% brighter than OEM bulbs. My rough estimate would be that xtravision are in fact 10-15% brighter than stock, and these xtremevision bulbs are 20-30% brighter than stock, with marginal distance improvements. Make sure you clean, polish (if necessary) and aim your headlights for best results. Theres only so much they can do within a 55 watt power envelope with halogen bulbs. It burns brighter, hotter and thus lasts much less time vs stock bulbs. I do prefer the xtremevisions lack of tint on the glass, the natural, warmer light spectrum lends better to visibility in the rain vs. the cooler spectrum of tinted bulbs or LED. Since I drive down remote, dark roads at night, any increase in visibility I can get is worth the extra cost. I just plan on replacing them every 12-18 months. One last thing, don't put LED bulbs in halogen reflector housings, youre just blinding all the other drivers for no gain in distance due to light scattering from optic misalignment. If you have projector headlights, go for LED rather than these short lived halogen bulbs. ... show more

Update: These were originally purchased in September of 2015, and have been in use ever since. It is now April 2017, and so far, no problems. I have them installed in a 2003 Dodge Stratus sedan. Original Review: I have had these in my car for a couple months now, and I can say this, so far, no problems. Are these the brightest lights around. No. Are they the dullest. No. I got some new headlight assemblies for my car, and they came with some basic bulbs in them, and yes, I could tell the difference, and these were brighter, which is why i put these in, in place of the basic ones that came with them. One thing to remember though. Usually with this type of bulb, the brighter it is, the hotter it gets, which means the shorter of a life span it is going to have. Sometimes it is better to have something that is just a little less bright, but lasts much longer. This is that bulb. A happy medium of lasting, yet still brighter then a basic bulb. Overall, they fit right in, with no problem, so no problem with the fit. One thing to remember though. When you put this type of bulb in, never touch the end with the glass on it. Always, only touch the plastic. If you do touch the glass, make sure to clean it off pretty good, to get your finger prints off of it, along with the oils from your hand too. Believe it or not, that can effect the bulb, so best to just not touch the glass part of it. It is not really had to do, so don't worry too much. Overall, there probably is not really much more to say. Just remember, while these are brighter then standard bulbs, it is a good possibility that what is already in your car is not a standard bulb, so these may not be any brighter then what is already in your car. So don't be surprised if they are not. It just means that your car did not have basic, cheap bulbs in it before. Do I recommend them. yes, Do I have any complaints. Well, they work, they do their job, so what really is there to complain about? Nothing. So nope, no complaints.. That is unless you want to complain that they are not made out of gold.. Or that they don't have a lifetime warranty. Don't see either of those happening though. Oh well. ... show more

Okay, I have a 2005 Frontier with original headlight bulbs. They seemed to dim, so I replaced them with these. Only had them installed for 8 weeks. Here is my opinion about headlight bulbs- the LED's are crazy bright but don't really work for a halogen system. They don't put the light where you need it, rather they go all over the place except the road. They are Bright if you look at the lights, but they don't produce a usable pattern on the road. The halogen bulbs that are really bright hardly last a full winter season. These lights are not a bright as I would want, but I hope they last a bit longer. They put out a much better light than my stock, but then again my stock bulbs were still going strong after 15 years. If I can get 3 years out of these bulbs, I will be satisfied. Less than that, and I would go with a different bulb. Amazon had these for 1/2 the cost as an auto parts store. For those installing these in the Frontier/Pathy/ or Xterra, it is worth the effort to remove the batter on the passenger side. Hope this review helps. ... show more
