Best headlamp I've ever had. The battery case is flimsy though and I'm afraid it's going to break as you have to really pull hard to pop it open. Hard to close back up too. Good features and fits nicely. Petzl is a great brand and I'd recommend this one knowing you may have to wrestle a bit with the battery compartment. I'm curious about the battery life too. I use it on the medium light setting and it seems it needs recharging after a couple hours, but I'm going to log the time in use to check. ... show more

    • It doesn’t have the same pivoting range as last edition.

The old edition had a wide up-down pivoting range making it easy to get light exactly where you wanted it. This edition has a new holder, that doesn’t allow turning the light focus downward enough for reading with the full light on the page. Very sad. Love the Petzel quality…and the way the light is round to fit foreheads-better than any other head lamp I’ve tried…but this aspect feels limiting. 😟 ... show more

I really like this brand of headlamps. This headlamp lasted longer than 6 hours on highest beam for me. It puts off a lot of light. I have another one and I trade them out when I need more than 4-6 hours of light. I like that these are hybrid, uses a lithium rechargeable battery or regular AA batteries. ... show more
