This basket is very well made and sturdy with the dog in it. This dog weighs about 13 lbs. She sat very still but did move a few times. I find, as did others, that it is different steering when you have added weight on your handlbars but you get used to it fairly fast. Any bike basket out front would be like this. The basket attaches to a bracket that you mount on your handlebars. The brackets are clamps that screw on securely. Then there is a strong wire piece that slides up into a mount on the back of the basket. There are two nylon straps that you tighten onto the handlebars as well, just to ensure that the basket does not come off of the mount. The optional sunshade--which is very nice, attaches at four points with little leatherette straps. I undo two and flip it back to put the dog in. There is a tether in the bottom to attach to your dog's harness. The plush liner is good quality and i decided to add a small towel in the bottom just for added cushioning. Not really necessary but decided it might be nice if the roads are bumpy. I could also add a small layer of foam under the liner bottom if I really want to spoil her. The hardest work is just putting the mounting pieces on the bike the first time. After that, any time you want to remove it, you can just slide the basket off after undoing the nylon straps and leave the mount in place. This was a little splurge and we are so glad we got it. Just got back from a ride, at first, my pup was very nervous but soon settled in and enjoyed the cruise around our neighborhood. Assembly was easy BUT it took my husband gently applying his impact drill to the screws to get them tightly secured and the basket stable enough - without that it was a bit shaky. Just be careful not to strip the screws. With that said, this basket is likely not the type you can take on and off with ease due to the extra tightening needed. Overall, very happy with it. This was a great purchase and is really well done for the price. It didn't take long before my dog was fully comfortable on our maiden voyage. It seems she prefers the ride without the canopy, but we just received it today and are still experimenting. I read through the reviews and I think I will make the suggested modifications anything becomes an issue. With the good weather recently I plan to take my dog on many rides over the next several months. I added her sherpa blanket for extra padding. For light biking I would definitely recommend this. My 11 pound pup loves it. After our rides I unclip her from her harness and she doesn’t want to get out of the basket! This usually leads to the cutest photo shoots. She loooooves it!

Easy to Install. Looks super cute and my 8lb dog seems to enjoy it. I did buy a small flat pillow to add cushion, as the bottoms seems a little hard for her skinny self.

Super cute and well made. The only thing I would improve is the ease of attaching the sun shade. That thing has to be strapped down or it flies off when you hit bumps on the road.
