Ill sum it up with I was raised old school, did a lot of MMA, and had a few motorcycles so facial cleansing care was not on the top of my priority list. However I smoke cigarettes and have a few facial scars from extreme activities and as I get older my skin is changing and after getting a few tv advertised products that made everything worse, I turned to an esthetician. I trashed the stuff I was using and got a few new products. This is one of them. It is a no BS cleaner and strengthener/revitalizer. I have been using it for about two months with amazing results. My pores are smaller and less textured, the blackheads that never went away in the past unless in heavy training sweating a lot with continuous removal started to fade away. My wrinkles that were seeming to pronounce more started to tighten. And I ran out the other day and used body wash for a couple week like it was no big deal and despite the body wash being amazing and quality my face noticed a difference. Not a dependency but it was noticeable that basic wash does not do what the face wants most and this facial wash does. Other products boast they can do what this actually does. Just think about a few years from now when looking in the mirror or taking pictures and if the extra price for quality isn't worth it then well I don't know what to tell you because those who don't take care of themselves don't age well, I'm just saying. But you know the main thing? It sooths your face which is like its own massage or acupuncture. I challenge you to try it for a couple weeks then go back to other products for a week even and see if its worth it because as I sit here typing I cant help but feel the soothing sensation from an evening shower with this facial wash. I believe it also helps with potential ingrown hairs as it fights infection and can allow things to heal better in my experience. Using this in conjunction with ClearStart Facial Lotion has gotten rid of any ingrown hairs and almost all blackheads entirely. I did have an unusually bad case though from using bad products but after another few months of proper care Ill look like Brad Pitt, jk, but I know my skin will fell like its Brad Pitt haha. I noticed my pores becoming significantly smaller and my pallid color becoming brighter. I purchased this exactly 11 days ago and have used it every morning since. At first my skin was flaking, extremely dry, and had some redness and irritation. I like to give a skincare product about two weeks before deciding to discontinue use for irritation—but that has significantly improved and I think I’ll stop having a negative reaction by this time next week. You should get an extremely hydrating face moisturizer to follow up with and perhaps some rose water glycerin spray to alleviate redness and burning. For when the skin was peeling a lot, I very gently used my regular exfoliating wash at night after my nighttime cleanser, which is extremely mild and found that to be an excellent way to refresh my skin. I love this product it always makes me feel super refreshed after using it. It can be a bit drying but with my twice a week exfoliation routine it fits in well. The scent is pleasant and you don't need much product so it lasts me a long time. It is a bit pricy so while I don't always have it on hand I do like getting it when I can. ... show more

You never know on Amazon, but I did in fact receive the genuine version of this normally expensive facial wash. This is a great product. The salicylic acid really won't do much because Dermatologist tell you that it must be left on your face for a longer period of time and a facewash is too quick for the salicylic acid to really do any magic. The smell is terrific. Makes me happy in the morning. :) I "imagine" this could be drying over time, but I use a moisturizer and have no issues. This bottle will last a long time because you only need a tiny bit. I put a half-dime size in my hand and add a little water, then gently rub my hands together to get a lather going. Then it all goes on my face and I have no problems using it on my closed eyes. I don't use this at night because I don't want to mix with my retinol products in fear of it being too overdrying. ... show more

It is like old faithful. I always thought you get what you pay for. I have used pretty much every product and spent the moon on aestheticians and dermatologists. I have only had active acne twice in my life but still have to take all of the preventative measure. I used this for years and then I switched to a thicker ant-aging product. After consulting with my dermatologist he told me it wasn’t necessary at my age. I was just being paranoid using all of the anti-aging combatants. PTR penetrates for a deep cleanse. Melts makeup off too; within two washes. It leaves your skin so refreshed. There is a light fragrance; it’s not heavy. It has active ingredients so it will move your skin along instead of staying stagnant. ... show more

I love this face wash! It’s softened my face and keeps it clear. However, look at the ingredients before you buy in case you can’t tolerate salicylic acid or anything else like that. I first got this as a sample at Sephora. I was advised by the cashier that I shouldn't use it because it was really harsh and drying, but they had to give them out. I tried it anyways and fell in love! After 2 uses this cleared up a fresh mini breakout. I've been purchasing it ever since then. I concur that this is really harsh and drying, I only use this a couple times a week. Depending on whatever is going on with my skin at the time I may use this a few days in a row, but I rotate it with Tatcha's rice wash and Origins Checks and Balances. My husband, who has a facial oil allergy, uses this daily and it keeps his oil 100% under control. I absolutely love this stuff and there is no show that I've found. It is certainly pricey but it is worth the cost if you can swing it. ... show more
