If you're looking for a lot of frames for not a ton of money, this is the way to go. They're probably slightly higher quality than what you'd get at a dollar store: these at least have protective film over both sides of the plexiglass cover and the backing is more of a thin particleboard rather than cardboard, but at $1.50 each, they cost a little more too. The frames can be displayed horizontally or vertically, on a wall or on a table. Hardware is integrated into the backing for hanging on the wall, and there is a kickstand for table displaying that is even and sturdy, not at all wobbly. Personally, I don't love the "distressed" look of these. I think it looks artificial, almost like a sticker, where there's a bit of a shine to it. But then again, when it's displaying a picture, I don't think anyone is going to be criticizing the look of the frame - they're going to be admiring the picture, right?

I ordered these PETAFLOP Wooden 8x10 Picture Frame Set of 18, Rustic Brown Photo Frames Fits 8 by 10 for Wall or Tabletop frames because I had a set of pictures I wanted to frame for my teenage son’s room. My son loves Geek and Roman mythology, and recently I found him a lovely set of reprinted Victorian pictures of the Greek gods. I was looking for frames, and was pleased to find this set of 18 identical frames. The sales page says these are wood, but they also say that they are made of “engineered wood” and “composite wood”. There’s probably some wood in there, along with other things. These frames are extremely light weight. They are a brown color with wood grain on the frames, but they do not look like wooden picture frames. They also have slim plexiglass instead of glass in the frames. All that being said, these frames worked well for my son’s room. He hung these up right under the molding and the ceiling, so you can’t really see the frames that well. You can see a large number of unified looking frames, it’s a striking look and adds a lot to the pictures. I think just one of them would never have made such an impression. The plexiglass fronts come with protective plastic on either side, you need to peel it off before framing. These frames were very easy to use, and I was able to frame the entire pantheon quickly. The backs are cardboard, they have those little metal tabs that bend down to hold the back on or up to remove the back. There are hangers so each frame can be hung either horizontally or vertically. There is also a stand if you want to put the picture on a shelf or table top. These are not heavy wood and glass, but they look nice for what they are. They would be great for framing a suite of pictures, like I did, or for a photo wall. At the current price ($33.99) these are less than $2 apiece for eighteen matching frames. I think these are nicer than a dollar store frame, more on par with big box stores. PETAFLOP set of 18 matching frames are lightweight and easy to use. These are not wood and glass, they are some kind of light weight frame with some wood in it and plexiglass, but they work well and look nice when hung on the wall. Horizontal and vertical hangers, can also stand up.

Lately I have been on a roll, taking a lot of photos and reviewing the many I have taken over the years. I decided that a number of these needed to be printed out and placed on display as they were often forgotten in a massive collection that few would ever see. I was looking for inexpensive frames that I could buy in bulk. I was hesitant at first to order these, but I had to start somewhere. Upon receipt and closer inspection, I thought these were a good buy for the price. The frames are not solid wood but are a type of composition of such, nicely painted white with a distressed or weathered finish. Instead of glass, they used a clear plastic that had a protective film on both sides easily removed when you were ready to use. These frames have hangers mounted for both vertical and horizontal use and there is a prop up feature for placing on a tabletop. These frames are very light, and I believe they work best for a wall display. Unless you were very close to them, it would be difficult to determine if glass was used. Saying that, you must be careful not to scratch the plastic when cleaning or with excessive handling. I have mounted one photo at this point, and I must say was very pleased. My only minor complaint is that they supplied what looks like a modified type of push pin for mounting purposes. I found these difficult to use with sheetrock, so I used my own mounting hooks. For the price and how they look, I have ordered another box of these frames. As I did not buy these for the mounting pins but the frames themselves, I will still rate this item at five stars.
