He was sleeping in his crate most days, so I wanted to find something that would make it more comfortable for him and feel more like my bed. I bought this on a whim, and I am very happy with it. It has an outside pillowcase type material that washes very easily! The inside is squishy and a mat that the dog can lay on to add some padding. Now most of the day when he is sleeping, he is always on the mat.... even if it isn't turned on! When I do turn it on, there is a timer and multiple different heat levels you can choose!

I bought this to help warm up hypothermic lambs and baby goats. I am not exaggerating when I say this heating pad is a life saver! It is the perfect temperature to warm up the babies and keeps them warm as they get stronger. This is a farm must have!!

Left to itself, this product generates very little heat even on the warmest setting. The instructions claim that it heats up only when a pet is on it. As others have noted, there is nothing on the Amazon page disclosing this "feature". Naturally, the pad will feel warmer when a pet is on it. The point of a heating pad for a pet is to keep the pet warm, not for the pet to heat the pad! I will try to return this product for a refund.

My dog and cat love this heating pad! It does provide a decent amount of warmth that apparently my pets like! I like heating pads (I constantly use them to keep me warm) so I figured my dog would like one too because he's always curled up in a ball on the floor. To me, the heat level is barely noticeable until you get to 5 and even then it's still low! On the highest setting, I do feel warmth and my dog seems to prefer that temp. I tried each temp level to gauge his reaction and he's fine with it being on that number. The pad features a stainless steel hose to prevent chewing/cord damage. So far, my pets don't seem interested in the cord so I can't attest to its durability but it seems pretty thick enough. I also positioned the cord so it's not in a way that would be easily accessible to them to chew in the first place so that might be a good deterrent too! The pad can be removed by unzipping the cover so that the cover can be washed if necessary. The pad can also be used on both sides with a timer set to shut off automatically (like regular heating pads.) It's a pretty large size - my 55 lb dog and kitten can fit on it together (curled up of course). For the size I can definitely recommend this heating pad for the selling price. I have heating pads for myself that cost more and it's not as large as this! Overall, I think it's a good buy if you're in the market for something like this. It doesn't get too hot so you don't have to worry about harming your furbabies!

The pad is large enough that the 3 cats that sleep in the garage have plenty of room. We have cold winters in Montana and this pad was a big hit for the barn cats.

I have 2 outside cats and I put this in their cat house ( a wooden box) and it keeps them nice and warm .

Works well for a barn cat. Wish it had a longer cord but it is a quality product. Stays warm and the pad is durable
