Excellent Dual-Mode Reptile Heat Lamp
I’ve been using this heat lamp setup for my tortoise enclosure, and so far, I’m really impressed with both its functionality and build quality. The lighting system features both a red heat lamp for nighttime and a soft yellow-white basking light for daytime, and it transitions smoothly between the two. Heating & Light Quality: The red light is perfect for nighttime heating—warm, non-disruptive, and creates a calm environment for my tortoise to rest. It provides just enough visibility to keep an eye on him without disturbing his natural rhythm. During the day, the white/yellow basking bulb creates a cozy, sun-like warmth that he naturally gravitates toward. You can really see how content he is soaking under it. Performance: The temperature stays stable inside the enclosure, and both lights warm the space evenly. The fixture on top seems to direct the heat well into the tank without overheating the surrounding area. I’ve noticed a consistent behavior shift—he’s more active and alert now that the lighting is properly dialed in. Design & Setup: Installing it was simple. It sits securely on top of the tank and plugs in easily. The dual-lamp design is super convenient—no need to manually swap bulbs for day and night, which is a game changer for busy days or when I’m away for a few hours. Stay Away! Do not buy this cheap garbage.
It came in its original packaging & not in another box. The packaging was destroyed with tons of obvious drop marks. The box was not secure & taped closed. The box is flimsy. The dual lamp came in destroyed as well. The putter dome was no longer connected all the way around so the fixture couldn’t be secured inside it. The open ends of the metal are covered in dents & is bent on the corners. The fixture itself looks okay, but the inner compartments look dirty/used. The whole thing is so cheap, stay away. Most of the other reviews also say things like it catches on fire too so I feel it was trash that took itself out. Go with the name brand equipment.

Dual light fixture saves space.
I used these dual lights for my beardie tank at school. They added the extra warmth he needed. I like having the two bulbs in one fixture. Saves space.

Not suitable for mercury vapor.
Good build quality, bit only for use with CFL uv, halogen or ceramic bulbs. Not large enough for mercury vapor bulbs and will overheat from them.

Works perfectly!
I got this light for my Kenyan Sand Boa’s enclosure. It has two sockets with two separate plugs, one has an on/off toggle switch and the other has dial to increase/decrease power output. I have a “sunlight bulb in the on/off, and a ceramic heat emitter in the variable power socket. At the lowest setting the heat emitter, without the light, keeps the enclosure around 72°. With the heat emitter on high and the sunlight bulb on the temperature stays around 96° — perfect environment for my danger noodle!

Nothing but issues with this fixture since we bought it. First and foremost, what kind of light timer doesn’t have a 12/12 option? This was includes 2, 4, 6 and 8 hour. The thermostat is wildly inaccurate. It has the same weird time option as the light side does….and then an “on” function that’s supposed to turn on/off based on the temperature you set. WARNING - It does not. It continues to heat no matter what, so the temperature setting you input is essentially useless. You get what you pay for here. Avoid this product if you actually care about controlling the tanks environment.
