I through specs and reviews on many of the sheet sets Amazon had for sale. Every one, including the set we bought, had a few negative reviews. Eventually we crossed our fingers and made a choice. We only received them yesterday, washed them, and slept on them one night. They are a thicker fabric than most sheets, but still soft. They are not silky smooth...I find that type of sheet sticky, especially if it's at all warm in the room. Folks that found them scratchy I just don't get. Ours also weren't discolored at all, as mentioned in a couple negative reviews. Maybe they got sheets from a bad batch, but we are well pleased. After significant research, rather than take a chance on one of the cheaper sets I decided to trust the principle that "you get what you pay for" and I'm glad we did. It early in our use of these but they seem very well made and I am confident they will last as long as the LL Bean pima percale sheets we've been using for many years. The Bean set cost even more than these Peru Pima from Amazon. We are happy customers. If you want to spend less, good luck.

We like these sheets. They are smooth and comfortable. However, they do come out of the dryer wrinkled. That was a disappointment to me. I followed all of the directions for washing and drying and took them out of the dryer immediately. I am not about to start ironing sheets.

First of all, a little about cotton: According to an article on the Internet, Peruvian Pima Cotton is “…prized for its exceptional softness and brilliant luster, as well as its durability. One touch is all it takes to show you just how luxurious a cotton can be.” About eight years ago, I bought “Supima” cotton sheets from Macy’s. “Supima” is a trade name for pima cotton grown in the U.S. The sheets were and still are, after eight years of use, divinely soft and silky and the finish is silky and lusterous in apperarance. I still marvel at how wonderfully luxurious they feel, even after years of laundering without fabric softener. The only problem is the pricetag: $180 PER SHEET! (Fortunately, you can frequently find them on sale.) My Macy’s sheets should last years more, but when I recently acquired got a second house, I found myself needing to buy new sheets. On Amazon.com I found these Peruvian pima cotton sheets for less than $55 per sheet. Thinking I would receive sheets very similar to Macy’s, I ordered them and eagerly anticipated their delivery, expecting comperable sheets at a fraction of the price. When the sheets arrived I was pleased to see that they were clearly a high-quality product, but straight out of the package they were very stiff and slightly scratchy -- not at all soft. I figured that laundering would solve the problem, but after several washings, alas, the stiffness remains unchanged. Maybe, as some other reviewers have said, they will become increasingly soft with age, but the Macy’s sheets offered instant gratification right out of the package. Peruvian Pima does indeed enjoy a reputation for being the softest cotton in the world, but in my experience, the U.S. Supima cotton sheets are much, much softer and more supple. As I said, the Peruvian sheets are high quality. The fabric is very heavy, tightly woven, and the construction is first rate. I suspect they will be extremely durable and will last for many years. So, if you prefer sheets that are “crisp” as opposed to “silky,” then you should be extremely pleased with these. However, if you want luxurious softness you probably should look elsewhere.

UPDATE 7/2021: I was shocked when I saw that I ordered our Peru sateen sheets in 2017! We have literally used them pretty much everyday for all these years (wash them during the day and put them back on at night) and they are still perfect! No threads unravelling, no elastic degradation, they are basically like new only softer! A year after that purchase I bought the Duvet cover and more pillowcases to match. Perfect! After all the sheets I've had over the years where the fitted sheet gets threadbare and tears after a year or two, I am BEYOND THIRILLED at the Quality of these sheets! So much so, that I'm going to invest in another set just in case we need new ones someday! Thank you Peru Pima for making such a beautiful, high quality product. You're the BEST! Original Review: SO far we love out new sheets. Very soft and substantial/durable feeling, yet not too hot and not too cool. :) the cream color is very nice and they are a delight to slip into at bedtime. Ordered these sheets in 2019 and just placed order for new set. Quality has greatly decreased, so rough took off bed. Contacted customer service and since washed (as directed) they cannnot be returned or exchanged. Throwing away $135 as they are so uncomfortable.

Love the comfort from the fabric, just bought my 3rd set. They are 100% cotton and will winkle. I take them out of the dryer right away, don't over pack the dryer. I don't buy colors, white is all I use, so can use bleach. They fit and stay in place. People have stayed in my guest room and always ask what kind of sheets are on the bed.

The sheet set is both soft and crisp. That is to say, the material is not scratchy but stays cool and comfortable all night. Sheets do make a difference to sleep quality, and these Peru Pima sheets are the most comfortable I have owned. So what is better than the sheet set: the Peru Pima's customer service. The set that I received lacked a feature that was advertised. When I contacted the Peru Pima via Amazon, they promptly responded, explained what/why happened, and sent me a replacement to correct the issue. By the way, if you have any doubts about the description of where the cotton comes from, Peru Pima's replacement package arrived from South America. Fantastic sheets, even better customer service.
